Bought these to use with the kids on our little league team. They're extremely effective; slide them into your favorite bat to make them heavier. That way, when you hit the kids, the bat is twice as heavy -- and the hits are twice as effective. It's a great way to motivate those little brats. I purchased a 16oz and a 28oz. The 16oz is perfect for those "warning" smacks -- when they're messing around a little too much and just won't focus. We reserve the 28oz for parents only; whenever one of them mouths off about hitting their precious baby with a baseball bat, one good smack is all it takes to shut them up. And it's multi-use -- also great for smashing car windows and taking out mailboxes. My only complaint is that the weights don't have their weight listed anywhere on themselves. I can never remember what they weigh, although the different colors make it easy to tell them apart when you need to throw it at someone's head quickly. Of course, you could always do what I do and just throw both!
