This pretty much turns an electric screwdriver into an insulated electric screwdriver. That's a handy thing to save repetitive motion strain if you're working around energized electrical equipment. Some have pointed out that the bits are held in pretty tightly at the end. That's a good thing! The last thing you want in a live panel is to have a bit fall out. They're easy enough to remove with your fingers if they're dry, or if not you can pull them out with pliers. I'm going to buy some of these for gifts...

Until I came across this, I didn't realize isolated bit holders were a thing! So far it seems to be pretty durable, and I haven't had any issues with it, even when used with an impact driver.

If use another type of bit you can't get it out. And then the tool is no longer any good. They need to find a better way to get the other bits to remove out of the device.

I have the full set in my bag... 1/2, 3/8, 1/4 sockets and 1/4 hex. Small and easy to carry, while providing extra protection. I even use them on my insulted drivers/extensions to provide double insulation. Helps prevent arcing in tight panels/boxes. With electricity, you need to be careful and never just rely on the tool for protection.

I sometimes dig around electrical panels for work, installing and removing the occasional 30-amp breaker and screwing in a loose ground wire. This always makes me nervous, so I feel much safer using insulated screwdrivers and bits. The last thing I want is to sneeze and shove my screwdriver in the wrong place and burn a hole through my hand or worse. In spite of this danger, I also hate carrying around purpose built screwdrivers because of the extra space and weight they take up. So this little adapter solves that problem completely. My only complaint is that there’s a bit of slop in the bit holder resulting in a fair bit of play at the end of the bit. Electrical work is delicate work so it’d be nice if the tolerances were a little tighter. I would recommend this to anyone
