I just installed these on a 2013 Cadillac CTS and they are brighter and whiter than the OEM (very little night driving on my Mom's car, so really OEM.) I can tell you to install on that car isn't easy because you have to remove part of the bumper but that's hardly the bulbs' fault. Others complained about these bulbs burning out too fast but you have to put it into context. These bulbs are brighter and whiter than the entry level lightbulb because they burn hotter and likely have a different gas mixture inside the bulb than whatever you're used to. There is an inverse relationship for all incandescent bulbs between lifespan and brightness. More life, less bright. More bright, less life. Using these bulbs >will< increase the temperature inside your headlight housing compared to more typical, less bright bulbs. This can be very bad if you frequently drive several hours per night without any cool down, or even if you're in a very hot climate. The hotter the bulb is, the quicker the filament will burn away. So these driving conditions could burn the bulb out before it's rated number of hours but it is actually what's expected. If you have an older car and these driving conditions, it is possible the excessive extra heat generated can cause physical damage to your car's electric or surrounding plastic. It's very unlikely you'll have that problem with any car in normal conditions. Check with a pro if in doubt. If you do a lot of night driving and want bulb longevity over brightness, whiteness and down range illumination then you might try one of the 2 cheaper bulbs made by this company. If you want better night driving performance lights there is 1 bulb above this by this company that does it, but beware those bulbs last for less time than this one. You'll get more runtime hours out of this bulb if you drive less than an hour at a time with lights on and do a 30 minute cool down between multiple trips. It's just the way it is with these bulbs. If you want the best of all worlds and will spend the money, some LED headlight bulbs on the market claim to offer both longevity and superior performance. Personally I find the light frequency of most LED headlights to be a strain on my eyes.

This is for a 99 Chevy Venture. The basic recently installed aftermariet headlights from the auto parts store replaced badly damaged Arizona originals with dismal output. The aftermarkets had bulbs that were horribly yellow and not even bright enough to light the driveway. Couldn't even see stop signs or speed limit. After much research I chose the Silverstars and though I haven't driven with them yet, after an easy 30 minute swap in the driveway I stepped back for a visual and however much improvement I get for stop signs and speed limit I could see the difference. Appears to give about 200% more crisp white light. I'll update the report after a few test drives. So far I think I made the right choice. I'm not going for swag. I'm going for safety, for myself and others. MORE INFO: 10/30 So I took the car out last night and drove around some dark streets. The roadway was greatly more visible and I took it through the unlit streets leading to the hospital where there are lots of road signs and they were no problem seeing. The light was crisp, bright and white. Depending on you headlight geometry you should get similar results. And if you are suffering to see the lines on the road and the road signs with your weak yellow bulbs you will be very pleased. Mine are 9004 installed in a 22 year old Chevy Venture. Be careful DO NOT touch the glass bulb with your fingers.
