I’m absolutely loving the Rusk Root Lifter! If you struggle with flat or limp hair, this product is a total game-changer. I use it right at the roots on damp hair, and the lift and volume it gives is amazing. It adds noticeable body without leaving any sticky residue or stiffness. One of the best parts is how lightweight it feels—you get volume without sacrificing softness or movement. My hair still looks and feels natural, just fuller and more lively. Plus, the product smells great and doesn’t weigh my hair down throughout the day. It’s especially helpful for fine or thin hair, but I think it would work well on most hair types. A little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts a good while. Highly recommend if you're looking to give your roots a serious boost!

I really like the RUSK Designer Collection Thick Body & Texture Amplifier Spray — especially on wash day. When I apply it before blow drying, it gives my long, thick hair a noticeable boost in volume, texture, and overall “oomph” without feeling heavy at first. My hair looks great, feels stronger, and definitely has more body. But… by the end of the next day, my hair gets oily, much faster than it normally would. Since I really don’t like washing my hair every day (it’s long and thick, so it’s a process!), this has been a little frustrating. To be fair, I might be using too much product. It’s easy to be heavy-handed with sprays like this when you want that extra lift. I’m going to keep experimenting with smaller amounts to see if I can find the sweet spot — because I do like the results on day one, and I can see myself loving this product if I can reduce that next‑day oiliness. Overall: Great texture and volume.

The first two pics are before styling, the second two after using RUSK THICK. OK, what it DOES! Gives a ton of volume and body. Makes my hair look fuller and thicker! Lasts! My hair stays looking full! Gives some texture. Is a soft finish, leaves my hair still feeling clean! What it DOESN'T do! Smell, there is a slight fragrance when you first apply, most of this seems gone after you apply the heat. Give a chunky look, my hair has a ton of layers. The product doesn't give chunky definition , like a wax or paste would. Lol, but it isn't sticky like a paste or wax either! Seem like a good value, you don't need alot just a few squirts on roots and work through with your fingers. I think the bottle will last a long time. I really like this product and will continue to purchase it!

Love the smell, lightweight, non greasy formula that gives my hair more boost. Highly recommend for thin hair users.

EDIT: I do want to share that I've learned that this works best when your hair is still pretty damp AND it hardly works at all without HEAT = blow dryer or curling iron. I let my hair get almost dry, sprayed it with Thick and just put it up in curlers on a day at home. When I brushed it hours later--hardly any curl. Totally different response. Wow--this stuff is amazing. I've never had hold this good without my hair being stiff as straw and cloudy. The curl stays forever, my hair is shiny, and it's a joy to use.. For many years I have had to recurl my hair everyday because I couldn't get that balance of curl and soft hair; so I had to use hot curlers or set my hair every morning I left the house. This leaves just the right amount of curl in so all I do is comb through and rearrange. I really love this stuff and think I could have saved hundreds of hours of my life if I had it years ago. It is true that the spray bottle itself is crap (I had to return the first one because it refused to spray even after I cleaned the sprayer). It is hard to hold in one hand and spray with a finger or thumb while holding hair up with the other hand. So I bought a good little sprayer bottle and poured the solution into that. Yes, it is worth all that fuss. I can't remember when I have been so happy with the performance of a hair product.

Considering this product is a well known and supposedly reputable (Rusk), I found that regardless of the fact that it promised to work well on fine, thin hair, that it caused stickiness and clumping of the hair when used with my straightening iron. I usually keep it on a low setting (15 out of 30). I was afraid the damage was so bad, that I would have to worry about extreme damage. I could not put a comb or brush through it. I had to re-shampoo my hair to assure myself that it did not cause permanent damaged to my fragile hair. Unfortunately I wasted my money because this product was not returnable. Don't waste yours.

After my treatment, my hair became very thin and sparse. I tried so many gels, mousses, and sprays to add volume to my short hair, but nothing really worked. This product truly made a difference for me. I just apply it to the roots, blow dry, and that’s it — no extra styling products needed. The volume lasts all day without hairspray. I spend most of my workday outdoors, and even a light breeze actually gives my hair more lift instead of ruining the style. What I love most is that my hair still looks natural. It doesn’t stick together in the rain, it’s easy to brush through, and humidity doesn’t affect it. My hair stays full and voluminous the entire day. This spray has been a real game changer for me!

I am not a registered barber or Hair Dresser but I have done my Wife's hair for many years. I have cut, colored, styled combed out etc. for many years. We are now seniors It saves us a lot of money when I am able to do this especially when I am able to get a product that works best for her.
