These things hit HARD!!! Be prepared to lift this massive beast, as it weighs about a hundred pounds. I am using a Taramps Bass 1200 @ 1 ohm, which is a perfect match for these subs. It uses less amperage (65 amps, compared to 100 amps on the Skar RP1200.1), so I’m able to get away with not upgrading the alternator, or adding a secondary battery. I also did an LED conversion on everything, so less watts and amps are being used. Sometimes, I have to turn it down, because I’m afraid of my rear window breaking on me 😂 The vehicle I drive is a 2011 Ford Escape, specifically the 2.5L. The stock alternator is 150 amps. If your alternator is below 120 amps, I suggest replacing your main battery for an AGM one. It will help eliminate voltage drops. If your alternator is below 80 amps, I suggest adding a secondary battery, or upgrading to a high-output alternator.
