Great surround sound speaker stands
Great speaker stands overall. What I liked is that these are height adjustable unlike some others. I am using these for my pair of surround sound rear Klipsch R-15M speakers behind the couch. Just take your time and be patient. I recommend doing the opposite of how it says to string the wire. If you string the wire from the top out through the bottom you can't because it gets stuck inside on the lip at the bottom when you're about to make it all the way through. String the wire from the bottom to the top and pull it out (might need something to grab it like little tweezers) so that way when you get your heavy speaker on you don't have to mess with the wire, it's already strung through and you just connect it to the speaker. This speaker stand is not sturdy on it's own. I have these stands behind my couch for the surround speakers so it will not be bumped or touched, but it needs weights so that it is stable. I bought the "US Weight Tailgater Canopy Weights – 20 lb" to use for weights US Weight Tailgater Canopy Weights - 20 lb It comes with four 5 pound weights so you can wrap 2 of them around each speaker stand pole. If you are putting it in an area with more traffic it would probably be better to get the 30 pound option. I recommend tightening all the screws that allow the top of the stand to move before you put the speakers on especially the one in the center otherwise it will not be stable and move slightly. Once you finally get the speakers on both stands and all set up, if you put force and try to move the speakers on the top they will move just very slightly which is probably a good thing, you don't want it too tight in place. It might not be perfectly level but it's good enough. Just make sure all screws are tightened so that it's as stable as you can get it. Once in place and all set up and stable, do not be paranoid and do not keep touching it and messing with the screws because you might mess it up or weaken in. I get so paranoid thinking they won't hold, or that I didn't do something right and that I should make adjustments but that will just do more harm than good. Do not overthink it and do not keep adjusting it over and over and over. Just get it so it looks pretty good and don't think about it again. The best thing is that these are pretty cheap at around $40 I can buy again in the future if I need to, but since these are behind the couch I think they will last.

Perfect Home Theater Surround Speaker Stands
Wow these are a bargain! The quality is super! I was surprised. First of all, these are double boxed with double wall boxes. Then Amazon boxes them. So it is very unlikely that these would ever be damaged in shipment. They are fully assembled. But the feet are so loose that some fall off in shipping. I bought 2 of these. In one box, both had 2 feet fall off. In the other box, one had only one of the feet attached. The other stand had 2 attached. So these parts are rolling around inside the box. The weird part is that in one box, I thought I was missing a screw for the feet. It is double boxed and both are sealed. I looked everywhere inside that inner box and I could not find that one screw. Turn out is was in the outer box. They must have put it in there. IDK but I was relieved. These stands have 4 Cerwin Vega VE-5M's on them. Part of a 7.2 home theater. The clamps hold these tight enough so I don't need screws. The poles very sturdy. Might wobble a little if you bump them. Plenty of adjustments, so they are very easy to position to your liking. Love the cable management. Wires run down the inside of the pole. It looks like there are no wires attached. Using these is so much better than drilling into walls to install wall mounted speaker mounts. I was looking for some wall mounted speaker brackets when I came across these. I knew right away that these would be perfect for my speakers. YMMV. And at 39 beans, you can't go wrong.

Great stands for those on a budget, probably best used when mounted to a wider, more sturdy base or placed out of the way
I need these stands to mount my surround sound speakers around my couch and they seem to be a cheap solution so far. They were packaged well but as I began to pull out the stands I noticed some pieces were loosely fitted. the rubber pieces for the base pop off easily when the stands are being moved around. I like that they tilt but it took a few minutes of eyeballing it to get them aligned with each other. I bought industrial strength velcro to secure the speakers to the stands and I skipped the foam pads as I wasn't too worried about scratching the sides of the speakers. They seem to tilt in every direction so it didn't seem to matter which way the speakers are oriented when mounted. Like the other reviews, there isn't a real way to put the speaker wires through the stands without some modifications but I wrapped the wire around the poles instead. It looks a lot cleaner but I might just use more velcro or zip ties to fix it to the pole straight up and down. When everything's all set up, the stands feel solid but the base is so small and with the speaker mounted on top it's very top heavy and I feel like it can easily be knocked over, especially in my little setup where the stands are flanking a couch and can be bumped into when moving to sit down on the couch. I'm thinking about mounting it to a wide piece of wood like what was done in a different review here. I would have gladly paid an extra $10 or so if the base was wide and hollow metal so that I could fill it with sand. I initially went for these stands because they had variable widths (I plan on upgrading the speakers eventually) and didn't require the backs of the speakers to be mounted/screwed in, Overall they do the trick and considering all my budget components, I can't really ask for much more.

Too Unstable For Me
I needed stands for 42"(front) & 26"(rear) tower speakers. Being that my towers were of two different sizes, I liked the idea of matching adjustable stands for both applications. I've never used speaker stands before, so I didn't know what to really look for. Therefore, some of my concerns with these stands are as much an issue with my ignorance, as it is with the stand design. From the reviews I read, some had complained about the thick plastic caps under the baseplate, which had to be pierced to run the cable up to the top plate. I didn't consider that a problem. It's just a minor nuisance, but it does provide the option for the customer to custom size a hole for their cable. The thick cap covers the bottom of the inner "pipe". I surmise that the cap is there to hold sand or shot filling to add ballast weight to the stand. Before doing that, it would be wise to seal the cable entry hole around the cable with strong glue to prevent the ballast from leaking out. In my case, much more ballast capacity would be needed, especially at the bottom. Sand bags are needed there... or anchor bolts into the floor. There's another design consideration that I found a bit shortsighted. The small top plate does not allow any space for the the cable to be routed to the speaker terminals. This is easy enough to remedy by using spacers between the top plate and speaker bottom. The 7" square base plate (rubber foot-to-foot) dimension has proven just too unstable for my large front speakers, and only marginally acceptable for the rear speakers. My solution to the instability problem has been to wall mount the rear speakers, and double up, side-to-side, the front supports by fabricating a shelf to span across the top plates. The speaker(s) are mounted onto the center of the shelf. This provides adequate side-to-side stability; and the wall behind, hopefully, provides adequate front-to-rear tip over prevention. So these stands did not provide ME a simple out of the box solution. The primary problem is a base plate that is too small and too light to provide adequate stability, especially for an adjustable support. For many speakers, the use of sandbags, or perhaps 10 or 25 pound barbell weights, could be used to stabilize the speaker supports. If I ever buy speaker stands again, I'll restrict my choices to stands with a hollow baseplate designed to accept ballast. With the stand collapsed to the shortest height, and balancing the stand along the pipe, I found the balance point to be about 8" from the base (1/3 of the way up the pipe). Adding the weight of an average size speaker to the top end would move that balance point (center of mass) further up the pipe towards the top. These stands are built well, the flat black finish looks good, and they would likely work very well for those those tiny Bose type satellite speakers without additional ballasting. Even with those tiny speakers, extending the stand to higher heights might also need additional ballast. With children or pets around, I'd worry even more about the stability of these stands without additional measures being made to keep them from tipping over. I gave the stands three stars because they are very well made and sturdy for small speakers, and everyone does not need to mount large or heavy speakers. The adjustable height was a nice feature, and for those who are handy, these stands provide a very useful basis for fabricating versatile speaker placement. I should have done more research before buying these, and as an engineer, I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't look enough to find ballasted type stands with hollow base plates.

Another great product from VideoSecu
(Review written by item recipient, not by above account holder name) These are great speaker stands for the price, I now own 3 pairs and a few of their TV/Monitor mounts. I only trust VideoSecu to hold my A/V equipment now. Pros: •Easily adjustable height and tilt •Rubber feet for partial dampening of vibrations •Speaker wire can be fed through the pole •Sleek black design, arrives well packaged and protected from scratches. •Includes some self-adhesive foam padding strips for additional dampening or scratch protection •Feet can be removed, along with the screw in order to screw/bolt it down to a floor or even ceiling mount them. •Adjustable speaker width clamps can clamp tight enough with some rubber in order to hold speakers without needing to screw into the speaker Cons: •Clamps feel a little loose when initially tightening them, but seem sturdy enough once both sides are clamped to the speaker. •I feel the clamps should be taller, or an additional accessory provided to extend them higher for more secure screw-less clamping. •Stand is too easy to tip over, especially if fully extended, I wouldn't call these "Heavy Duty" if in high traffic areas. Though perhaps this isn't a con in some installations requiring a smaller footprint •Feet could perhaps use some better vibration dampening similar to some subwoofer feet - in fact you probably could install subwoofer vibration dampening feet onto these. Other thoughts: I recommend using some velcro or screwing/bolting the base to the floor unless you're sure they won't get bumped too hard and tip over. Also, these work GREAT as ceiling mounts - and it saved floor space! (Just watch your head), I used toggle bolts through the feet to hang from a drywall ceiling but they could be screwed directly into beams too. As for mounting the speakers, if you're really against screwing into the speakers just buy some low profile self-adhesive rubber strips or rubber feet to help the side clamps grip to a speaker. You could even extend it up a bit higher using some brackets of some sort screwed into either sides of the clamping mounts.

Excellent product, Excellent Price
I think these are excellent speaker stands and are an especially a great value. My stands are on a hardwood floor and the rubberized points on the bottom of the steel plate do a fine job of keeping the stands in place. I'm not sure how they could perform on carpet - I think some reviewers have mentioned replacing the rubber feet with spikes but I don't know where you would get the spikes. The stands are adjustable in about every way you need. You can adjust the height and tilt of the speaker platform and the platform itself is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of speaker widths. One simply places the speaker on the stand then tighten each side of the adjustable clamp-like side - I used the included self-adhesive rubbery pads on the platform to help keep the speakers in place. One could uses screws to further secure the speaker stands but I felt that would be unnecessary - the friction and the force from the two side was enough for my purposes. I read several reviews of this product with people having trouble getting their wiring to run through the center of the pole...something to do with a plastic cap being difficult to remove. I didn't have that problem at all. Didn't have to resort to screw drivers or anything of the sort. The wiring goes easily down the center of the pole and the rubberized feet give some room for the wires to go under the base plate and then to your equipment. I think for the price (remember you are getting two stands) this is an exceptional value for a quality product - well designed and very accommodating to various speaker set ups.

I like 'em. I like 'em alot!
I have not been "corrupted" or enlightened by more expensive products, so with my limited experience (these are the first speaker stands I've used) I'd have to say these stands are great. There seem to be some minor changes in comparison to previous reviews. There was no plastic piece to punch out or remove from the bottom pole in order to thread the speaker wire to my amp. They were packaged very carefully and fully assembled. Not a scratch or blemish on them. They also included rubber strips with adhesive backing for the side arms so as not to mar the speaker cabinets when tightening them into place, no blue tack needed! I did however cut out rubber shelf lining sheets to protect my speakers from the bottom plate as my speakers have shiny, piano black plates on the tops and bottoms. One reviewer complained that the speakers had to sit atop the wire to be threaded down the centre of the poles, but that was not the case with mine. This set had holes pre-cut on the sides of the upper poles near the top so the speakers sit flush on the carrying plates and I cannot see the speaker wire from most angles. I'm using these with Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 speakers, which weigh 14 lbs. each. I removed one star from a perfect rating because the bottom plate could stand to be a bit larger. The speakers will teeter slightly if pushed, but I have no pets or children to worry about causing any accidents. The stands are perfectly stable, even on medium pile carpeting. Even when I play music loudly with strong bass attacks, they do not move in reaction to the low notes. Actually, I wish I could attach a half star more, because for the price, the product I received is stellar and completely pleasing. These stands are easily adjustable in all directions, and once secured, the settings won't change. They allow me to locate the speakers perfectly in all directions, which is tonnes better than the console table I was using previously. I'm very satisfied with my purchase as the speakers sound even better than they did before, and that, after all, is the main purpose of purchasing this product, is it not? Oh, and they are rather handsome looking to boot. Minimal and unobtrusive or gaudy, just my style. I could have afforded the next tier up in quality, but why bother? I'm handy with wood and power tools, so if I require beefier stands in the future, I plan on just building my own. For now though, this product saved me time, effort, money, and frustration from miscalculated measurements. A fact I appreciate especially as I'm just too busy to build anything right now, but not too busy to sit and have a listen to my favourite tunes in sheer enjoyment when I have a spare moment to myself.
