This Edens Garden Bergamot Essential Oil has a really lively, bright, citrusy smell - one you should expect from a good quality bergamot! Works wonders as a spot treatment on facial or body scars left by acne - does NOT change the texture from what I've noticed, just the color of the scar. It took a little over a month for me to start seeing my scars lighten, so be aware of that if you are using this for the purpose of healing scars and treating acne. Also, VERY IMPORTANT: Bergamot increases photosensitivity in the skin, which means your skin will be more sensitive than it normally would when exposed to the sun. Something to keep in mind! I only use it at night as a spot treatment, and I wear a 'sunscreen' of my own creation in addition to an actual SPF in my foundation...and a hat! Also, I try to only use this in colder months where I am not going to be out on the beach or in direct sun. Bergamot is antiseptic as well, so it's great to gently cleanse superficial cuts and scrapes. The clean, bright citrus scent of bergamot makes it a really great addition to oil blends for aromatherapy, skincare, homemade 'Febreeze'-type sprays, etc. Would give an extra star if this oil were organic, considering the price - also, I have used some out-of-this-world bergamot before that I actually used in a dessert, where as I most likely will not ingest this brand of Bergamot essential oil. After all, it says right in the description that it's therapeutic grade, and for therapeutic needs, this stuff is great! **Disclaimer: My results are my own - yours may be completely different! This is the first bergamot I have ordered from anyone so I can't state whether it smells like it should, but it does smell pleasant. To me it smells lemony in the bottle but more like orange in an oil warmer. The scent was too light to really smell in a diffuser (which is what I bought it to use in) and it didn't last but a few minutes on my wrist. Not as strong as any other oil I have, but because it is a pleasing citrusy fragrance, and because I was issued a refund after some correspondence with the supplier about the scent being too light, I am giving it 4 stars. If you want a light refreshing scent to use for aromatherapy in a handheld device (or perhaps jewelry with a pad for adding scents) then this oil is probably the right oil for you.

A friend of mine suggested using Geranium to help with relaxation. I am a 25 year old dialysis patient and have suffered from anxiety since about 13. I have taken all sorts of anxiety medication and am currently prescribed 2 mg Xanax 4 times a day. I mentioned that I was trying to find an all natural replacement to help ween myself of Xanax. I put the oil to burn after a somewhat hectic day while I was alone and believe it or not, when the other people I live with arrived home they all said that they felt like they had been suddenly hit with a very calm, almost in a state of relaxation that could put them to sleep. I did not feel that effect but I notice that after a while my mind was not so cluttered and I was able to think more rationally and felt more at ease. It does help, some might feel the soothing effects a little better/stronger than others, but each person is different. It might cost a little more and some products might not give you the help you are looking for but I advise for everyone who is prescribed opiate pain medication or anxiety meds, or even diabetes or hypertension to try a natural approach.
