I only needed one but bought this set due to the "odor". The original seals tend to retain the smell of whatever you cook. The seals are so easy to remove and install that I use separate seals now for spicy foods, i.e. currie or foods with hot peppers etc. so as not to taint the food I'm cooking with smells from whatever I cooked last! Nice product

I should have read the negative reviews. Opened package & inspected each ring closely. Was dismayed that at the divots, no only did some have chunks that had come off or were coming off because it was cut sloppily (and the material is weak), but that at many divots, it was like a top layer was separating. The rings already had small cracks at these points that would harbor grime and germs, but also if it already had cracks, it didn’t bode well for the quality. I have since gone back & taken a look at the negative reviews, and see that it is common for people to have them fall apart after just a few uses, and I believe it. These are a more floppy/soft material than the original Instant Pot seals, and already coming apart, straight out of the package! It reminds me more of material like you would find on kids cheap jelly shoes than something that would go anywhere near food, let alone a seal for a pressure cooker! I notice they have a plastic-y/rubbery smell. They also are not tight fitting in my 8 qt. Instant Pot Duo machines (I have 2.) They are looser/bigger than the original seals in either of my machines, one that I have been using for a long time, and one that’s almost brand new. With all these quality issues, please don’t waste your time & the resources to have these go in the trash. I’m getting a “gift card balance credit” refund, but hate the environmental waste that this product and order was. Additional Note: For those interested, they fail the “pinch test,” turning white when folded in half, but to be fair, the original seals do also. I’m not sure the “pinch test” is a valid measure for this product. It was hard to get my camera to focus in the right spots & show the details, but these pics should give the general idea. In person it’s much easier to see the cracks & separating layers.
