Q: How do you play this? The description does not detail how the game is play.

The game is a deck of tree cards, 10 types of trees, each labeled 1-8. Everyone starts with 7 cards, then take turns drawing a new card and then playing 1 card. Everyone is building their own grid of cards in front of them. The game ends when there are no more cards to draw. The score is then calculated. There is no quick way to explain the scoring system except to say that the final 7 cards in your hand determines how many points your grid of trees score. No special rules. My husband and I play 2-player games of Arboretum and it works well. Like any 2-player game, you're going more "head to head" in strategy than in a 3 or 4 person game, but the game remains elegant and fun. It's also a bit shorter than a 3 or 4 person game.

Q: How big is the box? It looks rectangular in photo but the measurements are square.

Deluxe edition in the wood box is 8x6x2. Standard editions are in a small game box, large enough for 2 card decks side-by-side (about 4x6x2).
