I’m so impressed with this body scrub! The citrus scent is absolutely refreshing, and the clean ingredients make me feel great about using it. The jar is generously sized, and even though it’s a bit pricey, you really do get a lot, plus a little goes a long way. I noticed a difference in my legs and arms after just one use, my skin felt softer, smoother, and much more moisturized. It’s perfect for tackling dry skin, leaving it silky soft and hydrated. Excellent exfoliator and worth every penny!

I like to take care of my skin. I am a redhead, I like to be outdoors and I like a little color to my skin. So I moisturize a lot. I use lotion daily and I use this sugar scrub about twice a week. I've tried other scrubs and although they were nice, PureScrubs tops them all. I use the coconut scent which has always been my favorite. I am currently using the dead sea type and I love what this does to my skin. The sugar is very fine, it doesn't tear at the skin. It leaves a very satisfying oily feeling afterwards right when you get out of the shower. Once you are dry, the oily feeling goes away but the skin still feels very healthy. The scent is wonderful. This might cause my man card to be taken away but I love the ocean and the tropics and this is where I vacation, so when putting on the coconut scented scrub, it takes me away. Knowing that Janna uses all organic products in her scrubs makes me feel better as well. I am very chemical aware when it comes to my foods mostly but even the products you use as well. When I had a question, Janna responded quickly which was awesome. I just used the included body soap while on vacation last week. I took the bar soap to use daily and loved it. I did not take the body scrub so this was a nice add on to have. It still exfoliates and lathers up well. I used the just bar against the body and not a rag. I also really enjoy the included loofah. Yes, another man card rip[per. The loofah is genital and feels great. I use this about ever other day with a little soap even after I already wash my body. I already have plans on ordering more!

UPDATE: Jar style has changed to a flip lid wirh rounded edges and a foil seal. I like that you no longer have to find somewhere to put your lid while using the product but I don't like that it's a bit less secure for travel. I do miss the gasket that wrapped around the jar as nothing else has made me feel more secure about oil not leaking out. I'm sure part of the change was to save money and effort in including that though. I also seem to be getting scrathes more frequently than I have before. The product doesn't seem to be changed, perhaps my skin has become more fragile. Original Review: I have been using these scrubs consistently for about a year. My preference is the Dead Sea Salt scrub but I have also tried the Himalayan Scrub and the Brown Sugar Scrub. My overall thoughts are that this is the best salt scrub I have used in terms of not being overly oily (no slippery tub), leaving some light moisture (not enough to coat your towels and clothes in oil after your shower), and for the salt to not be too harsh against the skin (save the face), but mostly I purchase this producted because there's an unscented option. Overall, I do appreciate the love that goes into this product and brand. Jenna, the owner, is very responsive to communication, and clearly cares about the customer. I have to use unscented products because of my significant other's sensitivity to scent (regardless of whether it's from high quality essential oils or phthalates). I very much wanted to try the rose scent so when I contacted Jenna to see if it'd be possible to try just a small sample to in hopes it would work, she was kind enough to send me a full jar since she didnt have sample sizes. You can tell from the packaging and all the little extras that she is thoughtful and that's a business I am proud to support. The Options: (I have severely dry, sensitive, itchy, almost 40 year old caucasian-mediterranean mixed skin). Himalayan Salt was nice but it was more drying than the others so my skin still felt like it needed a moisturizer after use. It also left a scratch on my skin once. It required a moderate amount of mixing to keep the salt to oil ratio even with each application. Brown Sugar Scrub is the most moisturizing but the least exfoliating. This requires the most mixing to maintain the sugar to oil ratio. The sugar dissolves quickly and also slides off your skin faster than the salt which had me noticing more product waste. Dead Sea Salt Scrub is the just right of these options. It requires the least amount of mixing and offers the most balanced feel of scrub and moisture. This also left a scratch on my skin (see photo) but this happened only once in six jars of this version Out of the purchase of over a dozen jars of unscented scrub one of them smelled extra chemically. I believe this was due to the heat of August warming the plastic jar's ingredients/chemicals. Out of these same dozen only one had a very light hint of a cucumber smell, possibly from the contamination of not washing a mixing spoon thoroughly enough. It was so very light I thought it pleasant. My sensitive significant other didn't seem to notice. The rose scent (the only scented one I have experience with): Each jar has a heat shrink seal under the lid, the lid has a large rubber gasket around the the gap between the lid and jar. The jar is then placed in a box (along with the soap, spoon, loofah and a love letter) that is wrapped in heat shrink cellophane. Despite the multiple layers I was able to smell the rose scent through the shipping box as it sat outside on my doorstep. This was during Fall on the East Coast so there wasn't a case of heat intensifying the release of volatiles. It was so strong I had to remove the packaging from my enclosed kitchen trash can and leave it outside until I could dispose of it. The jar was soon to follow because the smell was just so strong. I thought I could mix a tiny bit to my unscented jars just to give a nice bit of aroma therapy to my shower but I couldn't keep it in my home long enough. For anyone sensitive, I suggest just getting the unscented and putting a drop of essential oil inside. The Extras: I didn't need or care about the extras... until they came. The spoon has been so helpful in mixing the product, using the right amount, not wearing off nail polish by grabbing it with your fingers, looking adorable, etc. The soap is nice but not nicer than Sapp's oatmeal soap, available in all Whole Foods and the like type stores, for a fraction of the price. I keep the included soaps for travel but I wouldn't purchase more (they're $3 each - in a pack of 5 -when I can get the volume of 10 of these soaps in Sapp's version for $4). The loofah mit, I have never used and have no need for. Price: This product is expensive. The time put into it and that this is a small company that can't get the deep bulk discounts of larger suppliers is part of the reason. The extras are another obvious reason. I also believe everything could probably be better sourced, from ingredients to packaging, to reduce the overall cost. (Sourcing is difficult and time consuming). The cost of shipping - which is never free - is included. There are things that could be done to cut these costs but it's all easier said than done. It would be nice if along with the current package there was a refill in a bag option. I can keep a jar, I dont need a new spoon every time and I'm just stacking these other things up in a box in my hall closet. The Effectiveness: I like to use mits and give myself a hamam or korean type body scrub at home. Nothing is ever going to beat that, you can literally see the skin rolling off of your body. What I like about this salt scrub is that I can go further between the mit exfoliation (which adds 20 min to my shower once a week) and there is less dead skin coming off when I use this scrub in between. The scrub is also gentle enough that I sometimes use it after the mit without any problems. For the Face: To each their own but I wouldn't use any of these scrubs on my face. The granules are too large for such delicate skin. Despite the arguments on scrubs and microtears, the size means it's just not going to do much. You will get a far more effective yet much gentler face scrub by using baking soda. Better yet, invest in a skin spatula, it does wonders. The Sting: It doesn't! I have shaved first, scrubbed last and absolutely no sting at all. However, I have had some small cuts on my fingers, that does sting, but not forever and the salt will make them heal faster anyway. Overall, this is a product I will be using for years to come. If there were ever any sales on it or if the price was just a bit lower I would even buy the scrubs as gifts for all my friends and try to convert them. As it is, I keep it to myself... because $25 on a scrub vs $25 on a necklace and earring set, a new belt, a bottle of booze, etc that lasts much longer is a no-brainer.

Love this scrub for a couple times a week hand exfoliation. Leaves hands smooth and fresh for 12 hours easily, I'll usually throw some lotion on towards the end of that period and it's a nice 24-hour regimen for drier climates. Smell is fantastic too and it comes with quite a lot. I'd expect one jar to last me 4+ months of using it 2-3 times a week.
