When I was a mere sprat, my grandmother and I would purchase a specific type of Black Cherry Soda. It hasn't been made in over twenty years now, and my grandmother passed in 2007. Even when I aged in years, I would very once in awhile have a Black Cherry Wine Cooler, as when I was of legal age, I would get Peach flavored coolers for my grandmother, and Black Cherry for myself. What does all this mean? It means the flavor of these Ultra Black Monsters have a sour overbite, with a Cherry mash flavor on the backwash. Much like the old Black Cherry Sodas had, and like the Wine Coolers too, just substitute caffeine for alcohol content and you have a similar taste. 150MG Caffeine content per can, with 10 Calories to boot, and it tastes like a childhood of fond memories. What more could you want? Chill 'em for 45 minutes in the freezer before drinking. So many reviews, yet few on this Amazon exclusive flavor[at least in the US]. Personally, if you like Black Cherry, this is a no-brainer. To anyone who doesn't like sour Cherry, you simply will not like Ultra Black. Do have wonderful day, hopefully, with more wisdom than the last.

Monster Energy Ultra Black is hands down the best flavor! I love it, and the fact that it’s sugar-free makes it even better. Perfect pick-me-up and always stocked in my fridge. Highly recommend!

This is very hard to find locally, so I buy it here, at a small premium. If you like black cherry you will like this.

UPDATE: I was hoping to write another review but can only update on this page. I used to rate this 5 stars due to the quick delivery, cheap price, and overall quality. However, throughout this year I've placed a few orders and beginning to get cans that are not standard cans. The ones with the colored tops that match the can flavor have the original flavor and are of best quality. I am now mostly getting orders that have silver tops instead. While these I believe are genuine monsters they are outsourced and they do not have the same flavors as the originals. While it is still cheaper to purchase here instead of stores the flavor from the silver cans are truly different across the different flavors and are off-putting. I will be ordering again but if I continue to get silver-topped cans that do not taste the same I will be complaining and/or continue to lower my rating for this product. OLD REVIEW for ultra black: These drinks come packaged very well. All drinks were dated with a recent creation date so still had 90-95% of shelf life left. They are also far cheaper than anything you'll find at the store($1.375 each). It has a great black cherry type flavor. Would definitely recommend!

Tastes awesome, and it's the cheapest price I've seen for Monster at just under $2 per can (plus tax in applicable states). If you're looking at this page, you've certainly tried Ultra Black before. The quality is just as good as any physical store, so it's worth a buy if you drink a lot of energy drinks. If you haven't tasted them, you'll probably want to try one somewhere else before committing to a 24-pack. Edit: Since buying this, I've switched to the orange colored Ultra flavor. If Ultra Black is your flavor for sure, go for it! But if you can handle another flavor, I'd highly recommend the orange. Still zero calories, but it's MUCH cheaper for a 24-pack. I didn't like the taste as much starting out, but I've actually grown to really like it. They're my standard drink now instead of these. Anyway, if you like one Monster flavor, you probably like other flavors from them, and that's my two cents.

Flavor is actually Black Cherry/Currant so the name is on the nose. Still tastes like monster though so I can’t complain. I’ve been practically immune to caffeine for half my life so I can’t really tell how much energy this provides. However I did drink about five cans in one sitting and could not fall asleep for two hours once I came around to trying to go to bed. That being said, I haven’t seen this flavor in the stores in my area, and it’s actually rather tasty, they say it’s zero sugar but I can literally taste the sugar/sweetener. Overall it’s a good buy.
