Self massage with a ball is an art. It takes time to develop tolerance and learn to position the body to adjust pressure on the target area. Sometimes clothing helps to control movement. Seated on a hardwood cofee table , I can lean forwards back and sideways with support from arms, to fully target hamstrings, glutes and hips. This ball grips. Between a lacrosse ball and softball in size. (I use all three.) Great for shoulder desensitization. My favourite ball.

Take it slow and set time aside to work your body if you breath through the pain and do a 2 minute count when you find a trigger point (knotted muscle) it will usually release close to that time frame and the results will be obvious. I've tried many RMT and self helps tools the back buddy back massage tool was my favorite until I tried this Roller Ball it crushes all the other tools as it allows you to relax the area your working on so the muscle can release from its cramped / knotted/ locked state that it could have been in for many years. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. I dropped my sugar intake to 20 grams a day or less then cut my coffee back to 1 a day and my results from released tight muscles is astounding this Roller Ball is worth every penny and holds its shape when put my full body weight on it while giving enough so not to be overwhelming painful. You can also use it to strike your muscles much like some therapist's that use tools to hammer areas you can do very gental tapping or harder impacts just be careful I've brushed my leg and had some weird bump bulge up that when away within hours so take it slow. You can also roll it with your hand all over your neck Jaw and face along with foot work it's a do it all little tool you can potentially realign your own body on your own, a little prayer for help wouldn't hurt :)

I had plantar fasciitis for about 2 years before remembering hearing about mobility balls a few years earlier. When I looked up what they were the first time, I was put off by the price. But then when I reconsidered, I searched on here and this was the first one to show up with overall good reviews, so I got it. Man do I wish I'd gotten it earlier! Along with regular stretching and yoga, this ball is the only thing to really help me out. Frozen water bottles, being stuck in one of those boots for a full month, massages with my hands...all the stuff that the doctors recommended didn't help. Muscle Max's little wonder here did though, and I've since recommended it to over a dozen people, with every one of them thanking me profusely. Heck, pre-COVID I'd loan mine out to let them try it out first and they were sold within minutes. I've mainly used it on my feet, but it works well on other areas too like your neck and back. For plantar fasciitis, I'd have it on the floor while I'm sitting down in a chair or on a couch, and just roll it around while pressing down a bit. You need some pressure in order to work it correctly. The pattern carved into the ball hits all sorts of spots as you roll it, and it really helps pinpoint where the pain is. It covered my entire foot, from the heel to the arch, sides of the arch, and balls of my foot. For the first couple of months, it hurt a lot for the first 10 minutes of use. But the more I used it, my feet started to feel better. I now ALWAYS have it with me in my bag when I'm at work. I may not need it as much now, but on days when my feet feel a little swollen or something, I bust this sucker out and go to town, feeling better in just minutes. While the Muscle Max ball is amazing, and an absolute steal at this price compared to the first mobility ball I found that was nearly identical in design, some people do say that it doesn't help much. For the cost, it's worth a shot. Just keep in mind that you should be doing lots of stretches for your calves too, and hopefully you'll be on the road to recovery. I can't stop recommending this ball- the people I let try it out first had the same question as me: why don't doctors ever recommend this?

Firmer than expected but it is able to reach trigger points in deep tissues.

Just for transparency, I’d like to state that I was reimbursed to try out this product. I was surprised at the size of the ball since I’m used to using a lacrosse ball or tennis ball. It is hard so you have to be gentle depending on how sensitive you are. The size makes it good for rolling on a wall against your chest and also has a bunch of grooves that seems to aid it catching onto your contact. It comes with its own protective pouch so the dogs don’t think it’s their toy and chew it up. I don’t really see the point in all the grooves but it does provide some massaging effect as well. I’d say it’s good for therapy and feels good to roll under your feet. Does what its intended to do. It’s a little too big for some spots but makes rolling on the chest and glutes easier. I am enjoying this product, thanks!
