Lifeless
This is my first-- and last-- purchase of this product. I ordered based on the Amazon ratings, and I was disappointed. The jar held 2 "squished" whole lemons and a less-than-half lemon. I didn't expect perfectly shaped lemons but it looked like someone maybe had to smash these into the jar. This made it really difficult to get the lemons out of the jar using just a spoon or fork, and I don't like putting fingers (albeit clean) into food jars. The lemons themselves lacked flavor or punch, and there was barely any fragrance to them, which I though unusual. The lemons themselves had many seeds- small, hard and brown. I used the lemons in 3 different dishes and I can't say that they added anything to the flavor. I would have been much better off using regular fresh lemons in the dishes. I would not recommend this brand of product.

Wow, this is good
Super easy to use in recipes, great flavor. Good stuff. Already puréed is much easier for cooking

Authentic Flavor, Slightly Pricey
These preserved lemons add an authentic Moroccan flavor to dishes and are a great way to bring variety to home cooking. The taste is tangy, salty, and vibrant, just as preserved lemons should be. 🔹 Authentic Taste & Versatility The lemons are non-GMO, plant-based, kosher, and halal-friendly (page 2 – product highlights). They work well in tagines, stews, seafood, salads, and cocktails, adding a unique citrus punch (page 2 – “Add Zing to Your Dish” description). 🔹 Quality & Convenience The texture is tender, the flavor is balanced, and they save the effort of making preserved lemons at home (page 4 – customer reviews praising authentic Mediterranean flavor). However, the jar contains only a few lemons, which makes the price feel a bit high compared to quantity (page 5 – reviews mentioning price vs. portion size). ✅ Pros: Authentic Moroccan preserved lemon flavor Non-GMO, kosher, halal-friendly, and plant-based Versatile for many dishes (stews, meats, salads, cocktails) Saves time and effort of making preserved lemons at home ❌ Cons: On the expensive side for the amount provided Very salty, which may require adjustments in recipes Overall: A high-quality preserved lemon product that brings real Moroccan flavor into your kitchen. While the price could be more generous for the portion, it’s a convenient way to elevate recipes with authentic taste.

Delicious, Balanced Flavor
I had been getting locally-made preserved lemons, but the company was sadly destroyed in Hurricane Helene. I tried a few other products (the ones that are whole or half lemons). I gave this one a try because the reviews were good - THIS is now my favorite. The puree is far more economical and the taste is more concentrated. It has all the bitter saltiness I crave without the unpleasant bitter aftertaste. It is perfect in, well, everything: salads, soups, sautéed vegetables, meat marinades, dips, sauces . . . everything. And it is easier to use than the whole lemon products.

Bunch of black stuff on inside lid & around seal inside of jar
I purchased this 4 months ago and just opened it today to use in a recipe. Not sure if anyone else has found this, but mine had a bunch of black stuff all around the inside of the lid and around the seal - almost looked like rotted lemon peel. I scraped it off (this was my first time ever using preserved lemon peel puree so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to have this or not), and then tasted the puree. It didn't have much lemon flavor at all, sort of "tinny" tasting and had a manufacture taste to it. Yuk. The jar said it expires in 2024, but mine was already bad. Unfortunately, I am stuck with it. Has anyone else run into this issue? I think I will try to make my own next time.
