No. It does not come out super easy.

Not water proof. You could place in small ziplock or specialized waterproof bags for cellphones on the beach etc. Anyway these have a door to change batteries & the button area & pull alarm stick's hole is not water proof at all. I usually wear a waist pack that's light weight. It has a pretty good size pocket that holds my larger camera, 2 net water bottle side pockets. One holds bear spray & the other water bottle. And there's two other easy access pockets on the main pack on outside. Overall these slip into that outside pocket for easy access. (The reason I purchased these is I've been solo tent camping for over 50 years as hubby is not itno it. Two yrs ago I picked up a troller who drove past me 5 times on a hike on rural road along Kootenai River & had no place to hide or run. The person stopped 3 times right next to me. I moved to the River side due to pull out & in the far distance across river were some floaters putting in & though probably too far to hear me scream or even take note of anything I was looking for any option at the time. As he pulled up along side me for last time with his drivers window down we took each other in. A stand off moment. I stood clear headed with my hand clearly but calmly resting on the can of BEAR SPRAY. Cleary troubling. I'm only 5'2" & knew I dared not walk back to campsite as I would have given away too much info & there are only 2 sites there with a creek between them. The other campers had gone to town for business that day. I was pretty sure as he stayed there taking me in he was contemplating that BEAR SPRAY. I'm not much of a screamer. I carry Bear Spray most times hikng in the NW Rockies but not always. We do have Griz in our neighborhood along with Mt. Lions. A griz cub but no momma came running through my campsite in same location a year earlier. My bear spray was on my pack & pack was on my bike & bike was up the hill chain locked to tree above car & right where the bear ran out. OMGosh. As scarry as that was waiting for Ma Bear to come out of the woods following baby she didn't & for at least 15 minutes I was worried about getting to the spray or car or down the bank to the RIVER. The Troller was worse. I do not carry guns though hubby is a firm believer it's not for me. These alarm gadgets are my first. Will be very careful with them. And yes I will carry both. I have never had a troller in my life before. Nearest experience was 48 yrs ago when a seasonal Ranger in the Bob Marshalls followed me after askng me personal questions when I was signing OUT & waiting for my Husband & our companion both suffering from blisters to make it out & sign out too. He made me so nervous following me down to my car even lurking behind trees...really creepy. He was still doing this when the guys came out & we were dumping our gear into the vehicle. So in my early 20's with beautiful long blond hair maybe but the creep who stalked me 2 years ago when I'm 69 & windblown frizzy all grey hair hard to grasp. He was about 30 -+ super tanned wirely built small as in maybe 5'7. Super white brandnew looking T-shirt. Clean small red pickup. I had only manged to catch one camera photo at his pulling away & never got a decent clear shot of his plates. The road loops around & over the River & except for one of his passings he'd taken the loop each time & only doubled back once. So I plan to carry these as just extra layer of protection. I hope I never need to use for four footers or two. I didn't camp last year due to Covid when out of staters moved into all the semi maintained campsites & non maintained campsites & refused to move even after rangers attempted to evict many after their two week allowed stays. All ready to go this year. Cabin FEVER, lol. Stay Safe in more ways than just this one.

How can you reinsert? I pulled it and could not reinsert...very loud but is it a reusable item?

The little handle part should be able to be pulled out and put back in, somewhat easily. It is a reusable item. I have 2 of them and we tested them out and i was able to pull it out and put back in easily If for some reason you can not put the little part back in to make the noise quit, contact the seller and ill bet they'll replace the dedwcrice device immediately
