Q: Can these have light shine through them so they glow?

No,, they have a silver opaque bottom on them.

Q: does it have some yellow stars?

I don't know that it is a guaranteed assortment of colors. My understanding is that it is just a random assortment as it states "Random Bright Colors". It does not mention a guarantee of shape to color. Also, it shows metal tweezers, but mine were plastic. Per this picture, I was expecting them to be larger. Be sure to READ the sizing of 6mm to 13mm!! There is a different picture that shows the sizes per shape now! As I used them for fine motor tools, I was slightly disheartened with the size, but still able to utilize them. I also only ordered them one time, as I did prefer a larger size. The item description does state: "Package contains 100 10mm heart-shaped rhinestones, 100 6*12mm horse eye shaped rhinestones, 100 10mm pentagram rhinestones, 100 6mm round rhinestones, 100 8*13mm teardrop rhinestones, and 100 10mm flower-shaped rhinestones." Hope this helps!

I really don't know for sure. I would say that there are about 15-20 of each color of each shape.

Q: Are these able to be used with a hotfix tool

I used a hot glue gun to mount these on rocks!
