I bought this item twice, because they have been the best shoehorns I've used. They didn't break, but I put them in various jackets and backpacks, to make sure I have a travel shoehorn available to me when I need it. The plastic is stiff and sturdy, doesn't bend, so you can very easily slide you foot into your shoe without compromising the heel of the shoe. This is a great working shoehorn. Recommended.
