I have purchased other training materials from this author and was quite pleased. I've been to some of the author's in person trainings; also was very pleased. That is why I bought this book.The average person does not know how these things work and it makes it hard to talk to attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals to get things done. Reading this book does not replace legal advice, but it is great education. It will help you learn how to speak with professionals and ask good questions to have a good end product for their services. I gave this book to my parents and it helped us do estate planning for them.Having knowledge learned from this author has saved me thousands of dollars in attorney fees just by having a better overall understanding of business structures, estate planning tools, processes, terminology, etc. I find that attorneys like working with me because I am a better educated client and consumer of legal services. I ask better questions and don't get stuck in the process. I don't get overwhelmed and frustrated because I understand the purpose and the larger picture. I bought several and give this book to other business acquaintances as a gift. They genuinely seem to appreciate it because it is useful. My cousin was having a hard time figuring out how to set up an LLC for her husband's biz. It was causing both of them frustration and anxiety. We started talking about it, and I gave her this book. She was SO happy and relieved to have this information.This is a great book.

What a fantastic book. Trusts are the only real way to protect familywealth while passing it to ones heirs. There are lots of attorneys preparing trusts. Once they get paid for the initial trust, The trust probably goes to a safe deposit box or executor and the trust may never be populated. It is up the the person who purchased the trust to POPULATE IT with Stocks, bonds, real estate, insurance etc. If the trust is not populated, it is useless. This book explains what needs to happen and takes up where most trust attorneys leave off. This book has the potential to save 50% of a couples wealth once both the husband and wife who drafted the orignal trust have passed on. If you want your wealth to pass on to your heirs, you need this book. The limits of protected wealth reverts from the present 3 million to 1 million in 2011. If that law is allowed to expire. This book is easily read and understood by non attorneys. Everyone needs a revocable trust, if you have been divorced and have children with two different spouses, then you doubly need this book. What is presented in this book is needed for everyone! Especially, those of use that have family, children, grandchildren, and are aging. We need to be proactive with our finances and what happens to them BEFORE we have problems. This book helps sort that out.

Great book with many easy to understand examples. Helped me understand the “why” and most of the how (better educated now when speaking to an array to set up my trust).Unfortunately my copy of the book did not come with the CD.

I thought this book would be chock full of information on how to protect your assets from ruinous or frivolous lawsuits through the use of LLCs or other methods. Although the book does touch on this, by far, the bigger emphasis is on creating revocable trusts to streamline the inheritance issues and the many risks of poor planning in this area. It would be better titled "Passing On Your Financial Assets" and as such it would be an excellent 5 Star book on estate planning. However, I can only give it 4 stars since it's called "Protecting" which I found a bit misleading.

Very good book for organizing your financial life to maximize what you pass on to your heirs, as well as to enlighten you on options you can take now to increase your financial efficiency...leaving more income in your pocket, under your control.Well written, enough examples to make the concepts real and practical.I wish my parents had taught me this.

I bought this used because the “used” books are in most cases excellent quality. BUT there is NO DVD included. Please change that to be more honest about what a customer is actually buying.

I found this to be a very enlightening book describing the process of probate as well as the benefits of a living revocable trust, as well as other strategies. For a non-lawyer, I think this is a very good read.
