I tried using a good quality ink-jet printer, but the quality was not that good, and the features were limited. My wife had to give up on hers as well. One day my wife called me to say that a HP Laser Jet Pro was on sale. I rushed down and bought it. It's been several years now, and we keep finding new features that make life much easier, and the printing convenience even greater. But this is about HP Color Laser Jet Pro toner cartridges. To save a buck, I've tried off-brand cartridges. HP must have had to accept the off-brands for legal reasons, but it lets you know it's not happy. I've tried the off-brands here, and they work fine for a while, but toward the end of their life they start to leak on the page. I finally went back to real HP toner. My wife does a lot of printing, and her printing comes through our home network perfectly. I print a lot of photos, and get warnings from the printer a month or more before there is any problem. I keep a test page to print to see if there is any problem with any of the four "colors" (black, magenta (red), cyan (blue), or yellow). It's been a couple weeks since the first warning for Cyan, and still all four cartidges are doing fine. HP sometimes updates through the Internet, and if you put in a genuine HP cartridge, the printer almost celebrates. So make your printer happy.
