101 ways to use plastic conduit
I have purchased many books and magazines from Make and really enjoyed them, however with this book not so. This book seems like a vanity project for the Authors, they have promoted projects that they have developed over the years and decided to use "Mechanical Engineering" concepts to justify the title. There are so many areas of poorly described technical issues, scant coverage of materials and modern technology such as 3D printing and CNC. The reason I give two stars is that the book is in colour and printed as the publisher intended, recently I have purchased many books from Amazon that have been poorly printed in Black & White. If you are looking for a book that covers modern day technology then give this a miss, you would get more from playing with Lego or Meccano.

For kids
I wish they would advertise this book is either for kids or for people who have no clue how to build things.

Buildings all over again
This book can be a trademark for someone trying to just build about anything but with some of those engineering endeavours one might be able to understand just how everything in the world of buildings works rather than there just being ones. Everything you could make with absolutely no help at all with your own ingenuity, this book shows you just how it's done and what is the engineering or i.e. mechanics behind it due to which it is what -ever- it is. Basically just simple and useful guidebook to help you and inspire you to build some or many of the things that involve some engineering that are seen in everyday life and that you could make of your own, especially if you've never tried building anything before.

Succinct et intelligent
Le livre est assez bref et il discute de beaucoup d'aspect de la construction mécanique. Il manque néanmoins de précisions, de détails, de ce qui fait la différence entre un bricolage approximatif et une construction fiable. Plaisant à lire.
