Shut-off Valve Kit

I used this in converting a wood fireplace to propane, looks fine, easy enough to install once you've got access to the pipeline connections. If you're installing this into a wall as I did you'll have to cut a hole twice the size of this, I put the bottom on the pipe going to the fireplace then dropped the pipe down into the wall and tightened the pipe into the shut off. One good thing, the chrome part threads on, however close or far away you have this to the wall you can thread it to match agaist the wall, creating a clean look. I had a shut off outside but I also wanted one near the fireplace, it just made sense to me in case of a problem I can shut off fuel supply without running outside to the tank. I already had several holes in the drywall to install the iron pipe, why not put in an extra step of safety? One step to remember, before attaching to fuel line look at the way the arrows go on the chrome part, if you install it wrong your off and on will be the opposite, thread the chrome part slightly on, hold it up to the wall, turn the key to make sure it's open or closed according to the arrows by looking into it, if it's wrong, simply flip it over before installing.

Good quality item, looks great and seems to do exactly what it’s supposed to do. I would have liked some instructions provided by the mfg. but it was easy enough to figure out. I ended up mounting it by sandwiching two 1 1/2” deck boards and then boring a 1 1/4” hole. Worked well. My only complaint is that I am using this with a 90k BTU Stanbroil burner. Being a 1/4 turn valve, there isn’t much room for adjusting the flame height. I think a multi-turn would have been better in my case. At any rate, this valve does work well.

Good sturdy valve with good key for safety

I purchased this for a new outside deck gas fire pit I made. Easy enough to install but requires some special permanent wood working talents to make it Work. I needed to mount this unit inside my firepit. I needed to use several large washers to bring the "T" high enough above the wood wall so the hoses could be connected. I use quick connect hoses for easier firepit storage. The Key works well for on/off however there is very little play in the fine adjustment. We Love the firepit in the summer evenings but dont want the huge flames. It takes a bit of fine tuning to get the gas adjustment just right. Remember to use plenty of teflan tape and test all connections with lots of soapy-bubble mix. I would also recommend a good shut off valve down line... just in case.

Built my fire pit from scratch. I used this for a propane fire pit. Make sure you get the propane air mixer too and make sure you have vent holes at the lowest point of your fire feature for propane fire pit. This valve is very durable and high quality, I would expect it to last for years without leaks. If you're building your own fire feature you can't go wrong with this valve.

Bought this to rebuild my fire pit. It was not a drop in replacement but I knew that when I bought it. It's made well, heavy and has been working great.
