First and foremost let me say that I had a scar revision done in 01/2017. For the first year I didn't really do much other than use a bland non scented moisturizer and a silicone sheet time to time. I didn't really care for the silicone sheet. It tends to tug on the skin and peel away newly formed skin on a fresh scar. I felt that it was irritating the scarred area when removed due to the tugging. I started to use Scar Esthetique in 04/2018 originally. I used it once or twice a day at best for close to a year. I was inconsistent with it's usage and didn't apply 3-4 times per day as suggested. I did feel that the scar was well hydrated even with one time application per day. The silicone seemed to form an occlusive barrier and the scar site was smooth to the touch throughout the day. I preferred this over the silicone sheet. I also felt that the product has skin calming ingredients. Parts of the scar improved color wise and turned white whereas some parts remained red/purple. I don't know if that is due to the cream of just what was bound to happen naturally by my body. The scar definitely became smoother to the touch and wasn't as firm. The scar is now as soft as it will likely stay. There are still visible blood vessels below the scar surface in some parts of the scar so I doubt that the cream will remove this redness given that the scar is now over 3 years old. The scar is pretty much flat and only slightly raised. I think this is probably the best it will be. I'm certain that this product works I'm still using it 2 years later daily but I feel that I may need laser therapy to remove the redness from the scar in the long term. I will continue to keep this product on hand. It's a great moisturizer and has proven ingredients that should improve a scar in the long term. What that long term is remains to be seen. Perhaps I'll have to through 3-5 tubes of this product to achieve full desirability as some in other reviews have noted. Please don't purchase if you think this cream or any other scar remedy will work overnight because you will be disappointed. These products can improve a scar over time with persistent use but there is no overnight cure for a scar. The idea is to use them long term and over time. These are natural ingredients that take time to work and often appear as if they might not be working due to their slow nature. Also keep in mind there is no magic wand that will erase a scar. One can only improve it's appearance, such as color, texture and height, so it's imperative from a psychological aspect to be realistic with what improved scar appearance means. Improved doesn't mean erased so please be patient and diligent. Overall I would recommend this product. It has proven ingredients and also if it doesn't work for one person it may work for another. For the price point though it's a quality product from a trusted company that takes pride in making skin products and places a lot of emphasis on scar improvement.

This cream is very comfortable and easy to apply. It absorbs into the skin quickly. I recently started using it for a surgical scar on my knee and I am happy with it. The only comment I have is that the tube was not even half full when it was brand new. Product packaging was somewhat deceiving that way.

This is the only cream-based medical-grade topical silicone ointment I was able to find. I don't like "gel" topical ointments because they odten leave an uncomfortable film on my skin, so i sought out this cream-based silicone ointment. However, it cost much more than silicone gels which are much more prevalent, less expensive and easier to find. So before I bought a 2nd tube of this cream-based silicone ointment, I tried the silicone gel at 1/3 the cost, and it did NOT leave a film as many topical gels can. So I opted for the silicone gel going forward, which is saving a lot if money

I used this on two new scars. I was skeptical that anything would work very well, but then I researched online and located a bunch of studies about what ingredients are proven to work and what are not. This one had three of the things proven to work, so I went with it and it's worked well. It also has a few things that haven't yet been proven to work in studies, but that some people recommend based on anecdotal success at healing scars. That said, my focus was the fact it had 3 proven ingredients. I'm busy, so I wanted something with a few good things in it, so that I didn't have to put 3 separate things on each day. I'll also note that even after sitting in a hot tub for a half hour, most of the cream was still on my scar, so it's very waterproof.
