Quiet, high-quality air purifier
This is my second BlueAir purifier; I've loved both of them. The 7470i is attractive, solidly built, and very quiet -- at first I wasn't sure it was working until I felt the breeze coming from its vents. It does a great job removing the stale smell from my home office in the basement and it seems to remove a lot of dust from the air. It has a colorful touch-screen control panel on the top that shows what the purifier is doing. If you connect it to the internet (which is optional and, to my mind, a bit overkill) you can control the purifier and view its status with a phone app. I don't really use the app very often but it does show the remaining filter life, etc. The app does come in handy when it reminds me to vacuum the purifier's pre-filters and so on. It's really easy to vacuum the 7470i's pre-filters (which catch dust) and change the main filter.

Attractive and elegant design, quiet, and efficiently cleans the air
Elegantly designed, easy to operate with a touch screen that allows you to control the air purifier using touch controls on the control panel. The LED display shows the air quality level by displaying different colors. There is a particle data indicator, temperature indicator, relative humidity indicator, gas indicator and filter lifetime indicator and the touch screen allows you to scroll through each of the settings to see everything at a glance. The air purifier is easy to move from one location to another. The air purifier does its job quickly and efficiently. This was very noticeable when I was cooking and the excellent air quality changed to polluted. We were amazed how quickly the purifier cleaned up the air and the air quality returned to excellent. The first unit we purchased from Amazon was defective since for some reason the unit was unable to read the filter. Blueair sent us a free replacement filter which did not fix the problem. Amazon quickly came to the rescue and I can't say enough about Amazon's customer service. They assisted me in the return of the defective unit and shipped out a new unit immediately so I received it the very next day. What initially was a frustrating experience turned into a very positive experience due to Amazon's stellar customer service! One thing that does need some improvement is the app. It took a few tries to get it to work properly. I highly recommend this product.

Great product!
The touch screen displays all the info you need about your environment! The app works well in recording the latest data. I thought there would be a stronger airflow but cleans the air great regardless!

Great so far; quiet, nice features, easy to set up
I have had an air purifier (for another brand) for many years, and while it is still working, I wanted to get the 7470i because it has a larger capacity and because of GermProtect. I just got it today, delivery was very quick, 36 hours from ordering. Setup is quick with the app, I also registered online for the free extended warranty. The app is great, it allows you to set up a schedule, dim the light (or turn it off), you can connect it with external air quality measurements so in one view you can see air quality outside and inside. It has detailed instant readings on for PM 1, 2.5, 10 and tVOC as well as temp and humidity in the room (which I particularly like). I can't judge long term performance, but right now it is working, it is very quiet, and the readings are already lower in the hours or so it has been running.

Quiet large room air purifier.
It is highly rated by Consumers Reports for durability. quietness, and ease of use. It is heavy and cumbersome to move. It is a device to move to its place and leave at that place. Easy to understand controls are a plus. An app to monitor and control can be downloaded from the App Store. Connecting the app to the purifier was not easy because a successful connection is not obvious. Buttons to connect additional devices remain dominate during setup. Later, connected devices show on the main page.

Quietest air purifier on the market
This is by far the quietest air purifier I’ve ever owned. It’s a great system. Made out of metal not plastic well constructed and very intelligent.

Arrived defective.
Item arrived defective, so I had to return it. Decided to buy a different brand because of below issues: 1. The light strip was very finnicky, as it would not turn on at times when I would plug the device in. When it was on it would only glow blue like the air quality was excellent. 2. It would incorrectly state the humidity and temperature in my room, and it would only re-calculate those two things after I unplug and plug it back in. 3. I had trouble at first connecting it to the Wi-Fi app, so I see why others have frustrations with it. It would disconnect and not re-connect until I deleted it from the phone app and re-added it. It stayed connected then. 4. It would not filter the air at all, no matter the settings I would change. I know it sucked air in and blew it right back out, but that was it. Smoke came into the room and it would suck it in and just blow it right back out in all directions, making the smoke problem even worse. 5. This one is connected to the 4th problem I had with this air purifier. The screen numbers would always say 0 and would say the air was excellent in my room when I know it was not excellent. The numbers never went up when it sucked a bunch of smoke in and blew it right back out. 6. I contacted Blueair's customer service and it sucked. They take 3 to 4 days to respond and ask me if I tried powering it off and on again, like I did not already do that among other things multiple times. I tell them I think my unit is defective and they never responded back to me. I guess their customer service department does not care.
