Got this book because I sometimes feel the need to always provide advice. The truth is, I really don't like giving because many times I realised others already have something in mind. So this book unravels what I've always been struggling with and provides great insights on how to overcome the "advice monster" in me.

O autor nos dá excelentes dicas de como conduzir conversas produtivas, desde como transmitir interesse, atenção e realmente foco no que precisa ser conversado. Extrair dentro de um nevoeiro de pensamentos que as vezes as pessoas nos trazem em diálogos é uma arte que começa pela escuta, pelo interesse e passa por perguntas inteligentes. Recomendo fortemente a leitura para àqueles que querem se aperfeiçoar na maneira de se comunicar. Complemente suas leituras com livros sobre linguagem corporal, comunicação assertiva e comunicação não violenta.

The Advice Trap was recommended to me by a parent friend of mine. I’m finding it full of great perspectives on communicating with my teenager, even though it seems to be geared towards workplace relationships. I’m thoroughly enjoying the book and already thinking of how to put some of it to work. Excellent read.
