I use this cooler in the front trunk (frunk) of my Tesla Model 3 and love it! When I'm on the road I want the cooler to be easily accessible, not buried in the back with the rest of my gear. This cooler is not too deep so all your items are easily visible and accessible without having to dig down to the bottom. I lined the frunk with foil/bubble insulation that comes in a roll and cuts with scissors. This cooler fills about 2/3 of the frunk which leaves room to the side for bread and fruit and other perishables that don't need to (or shouldn't be) kept ice cold. With the frunk lined with the foil/bubble insulation the fruit and bread stays cool outside the cooler and the ice packs in the cooler last for two days in 75F-80F degree weather and keeps everything icy cold. I use 2 large, flat Cooler Shock ice packs standing vertical and put the food/drinks in between the packs. The frunk is naturally cooler than the cabin of most cars because it's not getting heat soaked from a hot gasoline engine and there are no windows so the ice lasts a long time. The cooler is well made of high-quality, non-stinky materials and I keep the inside spotless by keeping the food and beverages in plastic shopping bags. It had carries without collapsing better than I expected but I wouldn't recommend it for uses where you have to carry it a long way. A taller/narrower cooler is better for that since it rides closer to your body. But short trips to/from the car are no problem. The zipper is large and heavy duty and zips nicely around the corners (but you might have to align the corners a bit for it to zip smoothly around.

I was looking for a lower-height cooler to fit properly in the trunk of a Mazda Miata. This works perfectly. Also very impressed with the construction quality. Looking forward to getting much use out of this next spring/summer!

This cooler is seriously awesome. I first saw AO coolers over 10 years ago when friends brought them on river trips. Even in 100+ degree heat, they were the best out there, and ever since then I’ve wanted one. A buddy later showed up with his AO cooler tucked perfectly in his Harley tour pack, and it performed flawlessly at a local event. That sealed it for me—I finally decided it was time to get my own. Right out of the gate, this thing impressed me. I loaded it with a 30-pack, plenty of ice, and it held solid all day and night. I started with a chopped tour pack, and while the cooler fit, it was just a little too tall when fully packed. I had to lay some bottles on their side and ease up on the ice. But honestly, I loved it so much that I upgraded to a King Tour Pack just to fit it perfectly—that’s how bada** this cooler is. Since then, I’ve taken it everywhere—from Harley rides to a full day at the beach. In the car, in the sun, no problem. It kept ice well into the evening and cleaned up easily afterward. The build quality is outstanding. I did pick up the $15 insurance plan just in case I ever wear it out, but honestly, this thing feels built to last. If you ride a Harley, I highly recommend this cooler—it fits great in a tour pack and performs even better. If your budget allows, go for the carbon version to protect against fading in the sun. The only improvement I’d love to see is a fully leak-proof zipper. Tilt it on its side and you’ll get some water out. Other than that, it’s hands-down one of the best coolers I’ve ever owned.
