I used these to splice together our dog’s underground fence wire when I moved the wire. Easy to use, but I’m no electrician (a nurse) so I had to lookup a YouTube video to see how to use the parts since my hobby was busy with something else at the time. All I can tell you is I watched the video, did what it said, and the fence works. We will see over time how it holds up since it is in the ground. Seems durable, safe protection for the wire from moisture, and fits that type wire.

This item worked perfectly for burying a spliced wire into the ground. This item keeps the wire completely waterproof and is easy to use.

I very happy that I found these specific for underground fences versus some of the higher cost higher voltage stuff. That being said, the nature of the break you'd be repairing can make the installation quite difficult. That is because these require quite a bit of slack in the line, ~3" on each end of the break, to allow attaching the wire nut and inserting into the tube. Since the fence is buried, it can be difficult to obtain this slack. Luckily, my install was close to a turn so I was able to dig up the line and change the radius of the turn to give me the slack I needed. But I can see this being a big problem for someone repairing the middle of a long straight run, for example. So the product works fine if you can get it installed but a different design, like a butt connector, would be much more practical.

After many years of questionable patches mixed in with some of these I had to finally completely redo my in ground fence. This style of splice kit were the only joints that remained rock solid. A year or two after I redid my fence I needed to patch in a couple loops so I waited until i received these to do it so I don't end up in the same position with a fence that's constantly going out and bad joints to track down.

Easy to use and only took minutes to fix
