How warm or hot does the unit get while recharging 12V battery?

Mine does not get hot at all. If I leave it on for hours it does get warm but never so hot I cannot touch it.

Will settings stay if unplugged and then re plugged in? the unit will be. installed under the hood. my child will re plug it with no chg settings.

It’s a smart charging unit that recognizes that your battery is fully charged and then reverts to a trickle charge to keep it that way. I haven’t left it on for months but I have left it on for weeks but I wouldn’t be afraid to leave it on for that length of time. I love it because I can charge through my cigarette lighter so it’s really simple to disconnect and go. The directions will tell you how to check your car to see if you can do it that way.
