I enjoyed the novel for the holidays, but it was a bit too cheesy for me. It also dragged out making it a little tedious at times. Overall, it's a light fluffy read, that spurred good conversation in my book club. I gave it 3 1/5 stars on my Goodreads review.

Quality wise, the cover is not as clean as I expect it to be. There are noticeable stains and faded title.

This story captured longing, timing, and fate in such a relatable way. I loved the slow burn and emotional depth, and it felt genuine rather than overly dramatic. A wonderful choice for romance readers.

Like many of you, One Day in December had been blowing up my social media feed. Reader after reader had been recommending it and, well, when it's that many people, they can't be wrong. So, off I went to procure a copy. I wanted a paperback and, when the BookDepository couldn't come through, Amazon did. Now, most of the time when I buy a book, it sits on the shelf for twelve or so months before I pick it up. One Day in December lasted about six hours before I was reading it. Josie Silver has managed to pull together the most beautiful slow-burn romance. The writing is fresh, it's comfortable, and warm all at once. It was not a straightforward romance, which I absolutely loved. I mean, how often are romance novels cut and dry? They kind of are - mine are, but this one showed a complete life story, things happening to and around the main characters as they took their time working towards each other. It was an absolute joy to read - I just wish I could read it again with fresh eyes. This is one I'll return to time and again, and I desperately hope someone picks this up as a film one day.

I loved this book. It took me a couple of chapters but once I got through the first couple of chapters it came to life I got to know each character and really felt their personality their pain, the happiness/hardships of each character. It definitely left me guessing what would happen next. It ended with a good feel and was easy to pass the pages and get through to the end. If you love “love stories” with a bit of drama and spice this one is for you :)
