PORTER-CABLE Heat Gun, 1500 Watt, Dual Temperature Settings, Corded (PC1500HG)

Very good heat gun for the price. Well built, balanced in my hand. I like that the support to allow the gun to be placed upright on a workbench is a solid piece of the handle material that is sturdy. The thin folding wire types are usually flimsy and they allow the heat gun to fall over if bumped. The temperature adjustment dial works very precisely and easily. The only thing I can't comment on is longevity, as I just received and have only used it twice today.

My trusty craft mini heat gun died and I needed something that would meet my wide range of needs. I am a collector of hobbies and handicrafts and I needed something that could delicately heat embossing paper, heat shrink wrap tubing, melt plastic, help to dry paint, remove paint, and anywhere else in between. I never outright purchase anything and always read reviews and comments. The other heat guns here on Amazon seemed to have a low or high setting but both seemed a little too high compared to my mini heat gun (around 300W). This heat gun has a high and low but ALSO has a temp control dial! At the lowest setting with the temp dial all the way to the minus the temp is warm and does well for giving a thin paint layer a little extra boost to dry. On low with the temp dial half way I can heat plastic to the point it is easily bendable. I have not yet gone all the way to the highest heat setting. At the half way point it gets hot (I can't run it over my hands). It's just so versatile! This is an AMAZING heat gun, especially for the price. The gun itself is rugged. It feels substantial in your hands. For a lady like myself it's almost a little too large. Holding it for more than a few minutes starts to fatigue my arms. The other features make up for this, though, in my opinion. It is also VERY quiet. My craft heat gun was much louder and this one doesn't bother my ears (I'm sensitive to noises like this). I purchased the Wagner / Milwaukee accessories and they fit perfect. I haven't removed the step down nozzle since I got it. I've had this for almost a week now and have used it every day so far. I haven't been so happy with a purchase in a long time. My craft heat gun lasted over 7 years of use and, based on the build quality, I'd expect this to do the same. This is definitely worth the money and the adjustable temp makes it amazingly adaptable for many different needs. It's perfect for crafts.

I finally had enough of my girl's blow dryer. It never seemed to get hot enough and even with attachments, it never met my needs in the shop. Enter the PC1500HG. The gun has a hi-lo speed switch (off-lo-hi) on the handle and dial on the side to control the heat. The cord is heavy duty and measures 80 inches from plug to where it joins the bottom of the handle. The over length from back of the gun to the tip of the nozzle is 10 inches and the height (top of body to bottom of handle) is 8-1/2 inches. The body of the gun is 3 inches in diameter. Although I didn't measure the output temperature - I'll leave that to other reviewers who have time for that kind of stuff - it puts out quite a bit of heat. It easily removed a sticker, but was hot enough to soften the plastic scraper I used to remove it. Heat shrink tube was a piece of cake for this and it got hot enough that the tube adhered to the wire insulation making a more secure connection. A good heat gun at a decent price (~$30). I would prefer the high speed was a bit higher, but it still performs well. Unfortunately, the PC1500HGA (gun, plus accessories), doesn't seem to be available anymore so you'll have to buy the nozzle attachments separately. Nozzle attachments are available through servicenet_portercable_com (substitute dots for the underlines) - $15.30 (plus shipping) if you get all four attachments. Siempre había querido una heat gun y soy fan de la marca Porte-Cable. Debo decir que más satisfecho no podría estar, es ligera, súper práctica dado que tiene 2 intensidades en su ventilador Low/bajo y High/alto ... y en ambas se puede ajustar la temperatura del aire lo cual nos da un rango muy amplio entre temperaturas. A los lados tiene una gomas para evitar el daño en caso de caída accidental o no, posee un cable bastante grueso y de calidad. La primera vez que la usé al apagarla desprendía un ligero humo blanco, en el manual dice que son residuos de aceite de fabricación y no hay porque alarmarse. Me compraría otra solo por el hecho de tener una extra por calidad.

Has a dial that goes from room temperature to very hot, and everything in between. You can even turn the dial down so much that you can dry your boots without melting anything. It gets hot enough to melt vinyl, but I haven't tried welding with it (would need a nozzle for that). The build feels good and solid. This is the epitome of heat guns. I used and abused one just like this (different brand, but otherwise exactly the same) at work, so wanted to buy one for myself. I don't know why anybody would regret getting this one over some other model. I know I don't.

Works well, great for high volume of use.

Gracias a la cuarentena por el Corona-Virus no he podido usarla mucho, pero cuando regrese a la normalidad actualizaré este comentario. Por el momento puedo decir que me gusta su construcción y materiales, se siente que es un producto bien hecho, no es muy pesada por lo que se puede apuntar por varios minutos sin sentir cansancio en la mano. En los primeros usos, he podido percatarme que en la velocidad 1 apenas es perceptible el ruido del ventilador. Calienta rápido creo, por ejemplo puede ablandar una manguera de plastico naranja a temperatura media en 1 minuto, yo la use para moldear la manguera y hacer un codo. Me gustó que se puede parar sobre la parte trasera del ventilador, dejando la punta viendo hacia arriba y sin correr ningún riesgo de caerse; también se puede apagar y dejar en esta posición en lo que se enfría. Hay accesorios muy baratos aquí en amazon que dicen quedarle, les sugiero comprar los originales porque no le quedan, yo tuve que doblarlos y cortarlos.

Bought to remove old tape from golf clubs during regripping... after removing the grip, only takes a couple minutes of heat application to pull off all the old tape and residue very easily. Temperature can get very very hot on full. Easy to regulate. Excited to use for other projects. I should have bought this a long time ago!
