Review: A GOOD BOOK. - My kindergartener grandson has taken off with reading & this book is good for his level. Easy to read, yet full of facts & information about George Washington Carver. I got it for him because when I was a child I'd read about Carver & was so impressed with his life that I wanted my grandson to know about him, too. Carver was an amazing man, part of our American heritage, & every kid should know about him. The book opens up discussion about slavery, agriculture, scientific research, & the culture Carver grew in.

Easy reader
My grandson did a report on GWC for school. I was thrilled as GWC was a favorite on mine in a hill way back over 50 years ago. Always keep learning new things.

Great introduction to George Washington Carver and the time in which he lived
Excellent bio for young children. I couldn't believe how interested my 4 year old was and the details he retained from just one reading. He was amazed to learn about Carver's life and accomplishments. I even learned a few things about Carver myself. It was also a great (and age appropriate) way to introduce what it was like to live in that point of history, as the book touched on slavery and segregation. Please keep these bios coming!

Highly recommended
I love these books. I'm constantly looking for interesting nonfiction texts for my classroom. These are perfect for my third graders and they can not get enough of them. Kids are constantly coming up to me and telling me new facts that they have learned from the books in this series. Great for science, reading, social studies, history, vocabulary, etc. Highly recommended!

The National Geographic books for kids is useful for classrooms everywhere. It is easy to read and understand at 1st - 2nd grade level.Because of the violence and controversies in our country, books such as these help the children understand our world a little better in an un-biased way. Highly recommended!
