The Men's Fitness Exercise Bible: 101 Best Workouts To Build Muscle, Burn Fat and Sculpt Your Best Body Ever! Review: A fantastic book on various great fitness workouts. I loved it. - For more than 7 decades I have had a passion for numerous martial arts and warrior fitness systems, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Wrestling, Combatives, circuit fitness, SEAL/MILITARY fitness systems and tactical aerobics), and I am always seeking more knowledge on these subjects. This is why when I saw this large soft cover 340-page book (The Men’s Fitness exercise bible: 101 best workouts to build muscle, burn fat, and sculpt your best body ever by Sean Hyson, C.S.C.S. and the editors of Men’s Fitness) I had to purchase it. As someone who has read numerous books and taken various fitness courses in my lifetime, I thought this is one of the very best books I have read on fitness workout programs. I loved this book for a lot of reasons. The beautiful and clear color photographs showing each of the exercises are fantastic. The instructions are clear and to the point. It covers more types of exercises routines than I have seen in other fitness books. This excellent book covers and enormous amount of material beginning with “Men’s fitness food pyramid, how to warm up, full body workouts, body part workouts, upper body and lower body workouts, cardio workouts, and short workouts.” This short review merely touches upon how fantastic this book is for anyone seeking a comprehensive and wide range of exercises to become strong and fit. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective Combative Systems). Review: Awesome book! - I was skeptical about buying this - I figured it would be confusing like all other workout books out there, or a waste because all the information was easy to find on the internet. But this book is awesome! I was exhausted of going through all the different websites online, looking for routines and comparing them with other routines I found - what a waste of time! This book has ALL the routines you'll ever need, with different combinations that will keep your body challenged over and over. Highly recommend getting this if you need some new ideas or need a place to start - very good for beginners!

Very good
I thought overall this was a really good book. I had been looking for a new program to jump start my return to training after a layoff of several months. As soon as I got the book I made workouts 3, 4 and 5 my new program. I've found the workouts challenging and effective. I was also pleased that the workouts were relatively short (about 45 minutes or so, not including warmup and cool down), which fit right into the amount of time I had. I've only glanced at the other workouts in the book, but they all seem good. The workouts come from top trainers in the industry, so you know you are getting quality advice. My only complaint about the book would be that the workouts are only loosely organized into programs (basically the introduction for a given workout might mention that it can be done with the preceding workout(s) as a program). I would have liked to have seen an appendix or something that outlined different programs you might follow using the workouts in the book. One note -- I bought the Kindle version of this book for my Android tablet, and I've found it to be a great choice. Having it on my tablet makes it much easier to use in the gym for reference on a specific exercise, vs. trying to keep a book open to a specific page (typically involving laying a heavy object across the book to keep it open to a given page).

Excellent workout sets for many exercise tools and situations
Review The Men's Fitness Exercise Bible by Sean Hyson The Men's Fitness Exercise Bible is an excellent modest size book that would fit into most luggage and be very useful. It contains over 100 sets of exercise for most every situation, machine, body weight, pool, common exercise tool you can think of. Each goal or item is pictured with an fit young man doing a workout of a series of exercises. Thus, if you find yourself in a average hotel “gym” or in an elaborate fully equipped gym, or just out in the wilderness with just you and your body and this book, you have at your fingertips a reasonable plan for working out. The word “best” is overused here. The workouts are very good. But best has to be defined by your goals and your situation. These are excellent, mostly short workouts for many situations. These are accessible workouts for the average, fit gym goer. These are not elaborate advanced workouts for the elite athlete. Thus this book is very useful for most of us. To be where your only tools are a pair of dumb bells and an elliptical machine and wondering how to work out, is difficult. This book answers the question with workouts for 1 or 2 dumb bells and a workout for the elliptical machine. Combining the two gets you a good workout. You might only have a stairclimber, or a pool, or a running track, or swiss ball, or jump rope or just your body and no tools. This book gives you good workouts for each tool or total lack thereof. There is even a good total body warm up. There is no attempt to be encyclopedic here. Men's Health Big Book of Exercises does that. There are no long programs to keep you working out for months on end. There are no progressions in difficulty. There are no specific strength or speed or power or flexibility goals here. This book is just how to approach various exercise tools and situations and make the “best” of them. Many of the workouts are less than thirty minutes in length, and some are even as short as 4 minutes. The book is just what it says it is, a collection of workouts for various exercise machines and tools. And as such, it is very, very good.

Not As Expected
I saw the author on a daytime TV show talking about the book. The host of the show asked him who has one of the BEST workouts and he commented on Arnold Swarzenegger. There is NO reference to Arnold in the book nor any of his workouts. It is a GOOD BOOK for the novice lifter giving several workouts based on time or number of days available to lift. I was expecting to see some ACTUAL WORKOUTS from pro athletes, celebrities or professional bodybuilder. For that reason, I fell a little misled. Still a good reference book. There were a few NEW exercises I have tried and since incorporated into my lifting protocol

Keeps my workouts from growing stale
I just work out in my basement mostly using dumbbells. This book gives lots of ideas for different lifts for different parts of the body using nothing but your own body weight, or using barbells and dumbbells, or using more advanced equipment. I had checked it out and the library, and found it so useful that I had to buy a copy for myself. It really keeps my workouts from growing stale. I think it is a good investment.

Get Results with these workouts!
I bought this guide for my man over a year ago. He was working out regularly and staying fit but wasn't building the muscle he thought he should be. He started the workouts in this guide as well as following a higher protein diet and he is getting ripped and looking hot. I have several women's lifting guides, but I do the core workouts in THIS book and they have made a huge difference in my core strength.

Very Impressed
Great information and easy to use. Impressed with the nutrition part more than I thought I would. I gave it to my 18 year old son (who hates reading) for Christmas. He has read it twice and uses it for his weightlifting goals. He has improved all of his ORM by 20-50 pounds in just two months.
