I did a lot of research before ordering this and the D3 is a far better value than the D5. Overall, this outperforms it and also does in the pricing category too! Clean up is simple using "Bar Keepers Friend". You can make this pan pretty much non-stick by following this easy technique: 1) put pan on Med/High heat for a minute or two 2) flick a few drops of water into the pan, if it rolls around like mercury droplets, it is hot enough. 3) remove from heat for 30 seconds or so 4) put high heat oil (Canola or Avocado) onto thickly folded paper towel and rub all over pan surface (if smoke starts, let cool a little longer) 5) once coated, turn down heat to Med and put pan back and add 1-2tbsp more of same oil. You should now be able to cook and food will not stick. Clean up is a breeze! I love this Alclad pan!!

Told myself it wasn't worth the money. It is- needs very little heat and disperses it across the cooking surface magnificently. Needs you to learn how to get the best from stainless cookware (and maybe a spot of toothpaste to restore the gleam!)

Hervorragend Pfanne. Seit der Anschaffung fast täglich in Gebrauch. Hält die Wärme hervorragend, Dank der speziellen Edelstahl-Machart und Dank eines hervorragend sitzenden Deckels. Man muss nur wissen dass Bratgut hier "ansetzt". Das ist normal, da es keine "beschichtete" Pfanne ist. Daher: Für Bratkartoffeln wie auch für Eierspeisen NICHT geeignet, dafür aber für Gemüse- und Reispfannen die man mit etwas Flüssigkeit "ablöscht" und dann mit geschlossenem Deckel fertig gart. Dabei Achtung: Die Garzeit immer gut überwachen! Sehr vieles - speziell Gemüse - ist viel schneller gar als man denkt!

Best stainless pan i have tried so far

This is a great and versatile skillet. I was afraid that without being non-sticking it would be hard to clean it. It is incredibly easy! I guess it might be the polishing that makes the surface so easy to clean. I wouldn't prepare my scrambled eggs here anyway! It is still not a non-sticking surface, but definitely much better than one may think. I have a set of Cuisine Art (high-end multi-ply) and is disappointing compared to this. It is a big one, so if you are cooking for 2 this might be too big. But here you can cook for 4 to 6 people, it is awesome for reducing liquids due to its big surface, and to simmer with the lid on as well. Finally, you can sear your meat in it and finish it in the oven, as is 100% oven-proof. I strongly recommend buying this if your thinking of making a good investment for something that I'm sure it will last years.
