My picky bird (GCC) ate it
I waste a lot of money for a pellet for find my both bird eat it well. I finally found !!! I'm so glad , they start to love this pellet . Green Cheeked Conure eat (hand feeding bought from breeder) first 1month he ate it but he more love to eat seed .i cut down each day and when he ate pellet always said "GOOD BOY " and very happy attitude to him after he grab few pellet by his feet and move to beak same time look at me all time. after i said he good boy or something he look happy and wink back . if your bird do not eat pellet bird find one master from family . they trust most of time , that person train then very fast to learn . if no trust between bird hard to change to seed to pellet , because parakeet was too old to train because he do not listen to what human said he just trust my GCC only. if he eat parakeet scary cat but start to eat same thing. GCC 75~80% pellet a day (lafeber's) 20~25% veggies& fruits, safflower seed ,millet as a treat . parakeet (still train to eat pellet) 20%~30% pellet and veggies& fruits (lafeber's) 80%~70% diet kaytee's seed PARAKEET (bought at pet store not hand feeding . he still land on me but still scared human's hand ) First time did not touch pellet at all , but i beat a pellet and make like almost powder, My GCC start little bit eat 2month ago it because i show parakeet that's food. your best friend eat it . they fly at house few hours a day , i only give them pellet out side and let parakeet try to eat same pellet as my green cheek dose . My birds tried in since may 2012 1 GCC and 1 parakeet both male ) (after fist check up at vet i found out i have to check poop color is healthy i studied i prefer Never give again colorful pellet) Harrison's super fine did not eat much but one parrot eat it . Zpreem's pellet natural color (never ate) fruit one just grab bananas one and just bite little bit and throw bottom of cage. kaytee's pellet rainbow never eat it . natural color never eat it .

Best purchase ever!
Just received my parakeets nutritional pellet. The local pet store went out of business and I have been struggling to find her Lafeber's pellet. I was super excited to find it on Amazon so I brought the 5lbs bucket. If your pets food works nutritionally and keeps them healthy you'll search until you find it. Thank you to Amazon for selling it and Lafeber's for making a high quality nutritional pellet!

Quality food, great nutrition. Hard to switch seed birds.
I know this to be great food for birds. If your bird is a seed-a-Holic like my bird who was eating seed in the store when I got him, it's not an easy switch. I've tried going cold turkey offering nothing but the Lafeber's and I've tried mixing. He won't eat it. I suppose it's like taking a kid who has been allowed to eat sweetened cereal their whole life and turn giving them unsweetened oats. Healthy, but not an easy switch to an already ruined pallet. Next bird I get will be hand fed nutritious food from birth and never on seed.

Kind of big for parakeets but not so hard to break with your finger
I guess they are ok, I grind with a rolling pin, kinda big and hard.I can break with my fingers and crush with the rolling pin. I also use Harrisons parakeet pellets, which are much smaller. I also use Dr Harveys seed mix but wanted to have another brand to give them a bit of variety, so we will see, my guys are picky, eat their veggies but refuse fruits. They seem to be eating this brand so I may continue along with Harrisons pellets.

Won't eat
My birds wouldn't eat it, despite slowly transitioning. The customer service was friendly, however, so I gave stars for that.

Nutritionally complete food
My budgie refuses to eat these in pellet form so I grind them up dry in the blender and mix it throughout her seed along with Higgins bird greens. I don't think it has anything to do with the food itself as birds in general usually are stubborn about eating pellets. My zebra finches are the same way about Lafeber zebra finch pellets. Just wanted to offer advice to anyone having issues with their birds.

Easy to switch to these pellets!
My birds love these pellets now. If you want to ween your parakeet off of seed, try a method (that worked for me) of grinding the pellets into a meal consistency (you can roll them with a rolling pin in a plastic bag they’re pretty easy to crush) then mix in a little warm water so it’s like a semi-moist oatmeal. Then add some seeds that your birds normally eat. At first the birds will just pick through and eat the seeds but while they’re doing this they will start to identify the pellets as a food source and get a ‘taste’ for it. Gradually, every day, reduce the amount of seeds you put in. This way the birds don’t starve while you are weening. this whole process only took a matter of 3-5 days. Once you see that they are eating the pellet mixture you can stop adding seeds all together and begin to mix whole pellets into the meal. Honestly adding the warm water cuts way down on food mess outside of the cage. Anything remaining from the last meal should be discarded and start a new batch. Seeds/millet are now only an occasional treat and are now used as a tool for helping to tame my new parakeets. hope this helps I didn’t realize the importance of getting them on a good pellet is and that seeds are actually low in nutrition. I mix these pellets with another brand of fruit colored pellets and they seem to like it. Actually they come running to it when i put it in their cage!

マメルリハにあげています。 フィンチ用よりもこちらが好きみたいです。 でもうちの子には食べ辛そうだったので少しすり潰してあげたら他のペレットよりよく食べました。
