Tried to get rid of pigeons but to no avail. They never moved. I tried all different settings and still no luck. To me, this was a total waste of money!

This is a buyer “fyi” more than a review. I just received the two pack of these units and despite my research that indicated 1 AC extension cord in the package, I received two, one for each of the units. Obviously, this provides more options for placement. Also, many complain of difficulty removing the rear panel to access the setting controls, battery box, and AC power connection. I found that if I start by prying up the cover at the bottom of the unit where the slot for the power cord and serial number sticker are, the proceeding to peel the cover up the sides, it comes off quite easily. If you have difficulty when it comes to removing the panel at the top of the unit, wiggle it left to right and back until it pops off completely. Putting it back on is accomplished by repeating this process in reverse. Note that the back panel has a top and bottom also. The last picture shows the orientation of panel to unit as necessary to replace the panel.

I’ve been trying everything for years now to keep the birds out of my blueberries and the deer from destroying everything in my yard. There is not a spray, scent or decoy that I haven’t used. So I bit the bullet and bought 2 two packs to use in my yard. What I found was that they are easy to setup and seem to be pretty sensitive even at a lowest setting. What that means for you is that unless you’re using the plugin adapter, you’ll need stock in C-cell batteries. Last about three weeks max as the are constantly going off every time anything moves in the yard (leaves, you or anything else). I tried the settings with and without the added screech of a bird which I think would be better if it was a human voice or dog barking, but it was pretty annoying since it was constantly going off in 4 different areas of my yard all day and all night. So how did it work? Well if you consider that deer stood 10’ away from it while it was screeching, creating high pitched noises and a red light and the deer continued to eat my trees and plants. Didn’t bother them in the least. Birds, flew and ate berries on the bushes right in front of it as it was working. Needless to say, for me, they didn’t even bother the pest that I have. Very disappointed that I purchased these and wish that I’d saved my money, but getting really tired of the constant fight and destruction of my property. I live in the country, but near neighbors who feed and cherish the deer, so maybe the only thing left for me personally is the physical removal of the deer as they are nearly tame around here (until hunting season starts then they’re nocturnal), so if you are in the same situation as me, save your money as they are like everything else that just doesn’t work.

pros: like the sensitivity and audible volume control ability and the nonsolar power so I can use in shaded areas. I ran extension cords to outdoor plug so plan to keep on thru the winter to deter deer from destroying my garden. Not using or relying on batteries. The audible screech carries 75 feet to back of house and windows, needed to be turned down and the control allows this :) Cons: the back panel is difficult to remove and replace and tends to warp the flange it covers due to very tight fit. Since the cover needs removed if any battery's changed or knob adjustments (above) . To attach to tree I used a bungee cord , wraps around front , no insertion site or flange on the box to hook into. I'd still order this , meets most of my needs and performing well thus far, deer are avoiding my yard since installed 2 devices.
