Wow! What a lovely close shave! This was my first time purchasing a cut throat razor and also the first time using it and it was actually a very nice experience and very easy to use. Very pleased with the results. I was jumping between the other gold plated Markhor razor, the Barbossa roazor and this one for days trying to decide which one to go for and opted for this one in the end based on the great reviews it had and I'm really glad I did. It's a lovely razor, great build quality, and comfortable to hold and use. Whilst the Barbossa one was the best looking it had too many negative reviews about its build quality and keeping the blades in place. And at this price, this razor is an absolute bargain. I picked up a handful of Derby blades from eBay as I didn't need 100 pack, and whilst it can be a little fiddly at first to put in for a first timer, it's actually very simple and quick and I'm sure next time it'll be a breeze. No issues whatsoever whilst using it. Blade stayed in place and was held tightly by the result and both combined to give a great shave. Very happy customer and will 100% recommend this razor to everyone, especially first timers.

Nicely made and comfortable to use

Good product, seems sturdy. Only really used it to shave a bald patch on my arm so far, but it’s the smoothest bald patch my arm has ever seen. Really like the leather pouch that comes with the straight razor. My thanks to the seller for including the small card that came in the packaging. It included information on why the seller can’t include blades with this item for clarity and on the back a paragraph of thanks was included. Areas of improvement - The very top part If the cardboard box it comes in could do with a re-vamp as it’s not ver sturdy. I appreciate that’s a little petty on my part as it’s not very important, so do with that what you will. Secondly, a few spelling mistakes on the card that was included and such like that, again not very important, but you would look a lot more professional if they were corrected. Other than that, the actual product works just fine, granted it’s only been used on my arm, boredom at its finest, but any defects I find after proper use, I shall leave a comment. Overall, worth the money! Just buy a pack of razors separately. I went with a brand called Derby, otherwise it’s about as much use as a chocolate tea pot x Kindest, Harry

En excellent product considering the price. It is easy to control and came with a nice pouch. Changing the blades isnt too complicated but do be cautious. You are dealing with razor blades after all! I wish I had got one of these years ago. Ps Don’t forget to buy separate blades as the product doesnt come with them

Feels great in your hand, and is really easy to use. The blade (sold separately) clip in place really easy and stay exactly where you put them. The blade is easy to remove, and the razor is really easy to clean once you’ve had a shave. Blade conceals into the handle for safe storage. It comes with a really nice leather pouch for use when traveling.

I recently purchased this shavette with high hopes for a classic shaving experience. However, my initial impressions were significantly dampened by the poor quality of the finish. Upon unboxing, it was immediately apparent that the metalwork was subpar, exhibiting noticeable notches and imperfections precisely where the components are designed to sit flush. This lack of attention to detail in the finishing process is concerning. While I can't yet speak to the long-term performance, the initial impression is one of disappointment. The poor finish detracts significantly from what should be a premium or at least well-crafted shaving tool. Potential buyers should be aware of these apparent quality control issues before making a purchase. Overall: I would hesitate to recommend this shavette based on the unacceptable quality of the finish.

Markhor straight razor for men is a great product to have in your home for cutting beards and lining up. I got this product for my husband because he had problems using the razor alone which would cut him alot. Since using this product to cut hair and line up the face he has little to no cuts anymore. It is sharp so you don't have to worry about a dull cut. It's easy to manage with the blade which prevents your hands from getting cuts and bruise. The case is easy to clean after using.The blades fit well in the holder and easy to discard after use It also lightweight which makes it easy to handle.it comes in a nice pouch also to store after use which is great to keep dust off the blade.

Great straight razor but I had to buy new blades, the ones that came included were garbage and they cut me. Throw them away, go to walmart and pick up a pack of new blades, then its perfect.

After about 30 seconds of fussing, I was able to get a blade secured in place. That's not terrible, but still, I'm not going to be using this again. The mechanism holding the blade "in place" is not secure in the slightest. You have to balance the blade against a couple of tiny bumps on one half of what feels like a piece of misaligned tweezers, and hope the blade doesn't shift out of place while you secure it. In short, I am far more likely to injure myself loading this device than I am while using it for its intended purpose. The "extras" are the only things in the package even close to worth anything, which is mildly infuriating. I do not want "free blades" when I buy a straight razor. I want to choose the blades that I use with it -- there are many to choose from on this very same site. Nor do I want a chintzy "leather" case, whose production cost must be something like a dollar, when I buy a straight razor. I want a quality straight razor that doesn't feel like a pair of children's scissors and can be relied upon to quickly secure a sharp blade in place. I feel like I must be going insane that I have to write a review like this in the first place. EDIT: Against my better judgment, I tried using this razor anyway. Bad idea. Even with the mechanism locked, the blade is free to shift around. I have a nice scab under my right sideburn now.
