Better than Your Grandmothers Homemade Cookies
Update 1 year later'ish: I'm so surprised, taken back actually, at the low reviews of this product, and very much so the seller of it. I would never have gotten through the winter without it last year, my first time in a BRUTAL, thigh high for multiple months snow/ice winter. It doesn't harm your cement, it does a fantastic job (you have to remember to start putting it down at the first sign of snow, so that won't ice won't covered in heavy snow and there's nothing better I've research or seen than this product. And the seller is amazing, kind, caring, a true human touch who cares about their customers. I needed help last year and they responded to me immediately with kindness, care, a little extra something for me and were wonderful. I've already got 3 ready in my garage for what's going to begin soon (buried thigh high in snow in the back and front of my home (my dog still has to go out) and 1 more in my car - 4 35lb bins is about what I'll need to get us through that brutal weather for 3-4 months (my community doesn't plow it's a problem). It's all about getting my dog out and thanks to Natural Rapport Pet Friendly Ice Melt I can get my old and achy gal pal out of the house during those conditions. My dog is my baby, my heart and one of the greatest loves of mine, she's nearing the end of her time on Earth, and thanks to this product, I don't have to kill myself shoveling multiple times per day, which doesn't do a thing for ice anyway. Again, I'm completely unsure about so many iffy or bad reviews, I'm not being paid for this review, nor am I receiving anything for free due to it... this is a true-blue honest review of my experience with this product and the seller of it. Again, keep in mind, if you live in area such as myself NE Ohio, which gets buried in snow and ice for 3-4 months each winter, you have to start sprinkling it in the areas you need it at the first sign of snow fall and freezing temps. You want each layer of snow or freezing rain to have the ice melt on it, if you don't use it in that way, in the conditions I'm describing, there's no way for any product to get down to the base level, which will turn to ice. Each new layer should get sprinkled, so that each new layer melts. There is no product known to man that can penetrate mid-calf, knee or thigh high snow and freezing rain, use it as described and you'll be greatly relieved with far less shoveling to do (again shoveling doesn't prevent ice - but used in this way, ice will not build). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can't say enough about this product! I just moved to Northeast OH after living in FL for 21+ years (before that NY so I thought I knew what I was getting into) - and I had NO IDEA what I was getting into. I've never seen, felt, had to function in or ever imagined this type of weather. I've gone through 2 35lb tubs 1 10lb tub and 1 smaller container, and NOT because it doesn't work, it's the ONLY thing that works and it's like a sheer miracle, but because that's what's happening outside. It hasn't stopped snowing in weeks, our HOA doesn't plow well in the least, or when they're supposed to, so basically not really at all, we've been in non-stop snow every day, with "maybe" one day of no snow, but the temps dropped down to a "feels like" -20, which then turned the existing snow to hard snow, like a snow cone, and the wet ground from any melting snow into slick ice. Then we've got mounds of snow now like snow cone type of iced snow everywhere. I've bought so much, because it won't stop snowing and the temps keep dropping and then suddenly come back up or the sun comes out for an hour or 2 at best every handful of days which melts the snow, but leaves the ground wet and then BOOM it suddenly drops again and that turns to ice, it's the most viscous cycle of weather I've ever been in. I mean I'm sure there's worse, but this is my worst. The very second (well you do need to give it a little time, or put it down in advance, but "advance" is no longer happening, that was before the first of the snow or heavy snowfall and that was weeks back), it's down it immediately a) gives you traction so you can walk without killing yourself b) near immediately starts melting snow and ice and c) if you've been able to shovel at all and then put it down, you are CLEAR. And it's eco, cement/pavement and animal safe! Oh, and for those of you who have been upset that it "stained your cement blue," it's not stained. It's just not washed away yet - throw a bucket of water over it (or better yet, leave it there for the next snow or ice) and it'll go away - trust me, I tested that myself when I saw the blue residue. True, it's pricey, especially if you live in an area like I do, with no help, no plows and no salt allowed. But so is every single other thing post-pandemic, there's nothing that's the right price any longer, because every single thing we buy, is being bought from people who need to buy things to make what we buy, and they're paying insane prices too - it's just getting passed around - the prices for every single solitary things post-pandemic is insane, it's not this product, it's everything (we need a global meditation or prayer group going that the price of EVERYTHING for EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE returns to normal). I can't say enough about this product, in fact, if you see the length of this review, you'd have to agree lol. HIGHLY recommend!

NOT PET FRIENDLY
After buying this in October 2022, we finally had some measurable snow and ice to use today. IT IS NOT PET FRIENDLY; our dog immediately starting whining and was lifting his feet. Do not buy if you have pets. Wish I could return.

Solid but pricey
A solid, albeit expensive pet-friendly ice melt product. The reviews discussing difficulties opening the bucket are overblown, in my opinion. The product does its job, and it does it well for my 60 pound dog's paws.

It melts snow but impossible to open
The 35 lbs bucket took forever to open using a hammer, it is not user friendly.

Best Ice Melt on the Market!
Fantastic product, by far the best pet friendly salt available, and probably the best driveway salt available too. We've been using this stuff for years now and have never had a complaining animal or an upset section of concrete. Other salts only get 1 use per application, this stuff though, you throw it down before a snow, it melts that wave then if another snow comes in the next couple of days - it will melt that wave too. Thank you!!!

NOT pet friendly
Our dog screeches in pain after walking across this ice melt. Complete mis-representation that this is a pet safe product.

VERY HARD TO OPEN!!!
I followed directions and removed the strip. Have used other brands like this with no problem. But even after using snip tool to bend up all the tabs around the edge- the too will not lift off. This is extremely frustrating!!
