Q: What is the propellant?

As it says on the can, no propellants. You pump it. Works quite well.

Q: This only sprays for a few uses, then it comes out in a stream. Any tips to keep it misting?

I followed one of the answers which was take the top off running under hot water and put the lid back on and I happened to have it upside down almost fully upside down when I put the cap on and it sprayed all over my sink making a mess but it did spray instead of make a stream so I tried it again standing up and it was a stream so it's all about how you tilt the canister if you're going to get a stream or a very nice spray if you hold it up you're gonna get more of a stream if you hold it more down more upside down like then you're gonna get a spray don't ask that's just what happens

Q: can i open the bottle and put the oil in a glass container?

No. The bottle is aluminum and uses an air pressure system to propel the oil outside of it. If you remove the nozzle it will not function properly. We do sell bottles of avocado oil that you can pour into a glass container.

Q: Does this work better than olive oil spray? I continue to have grains stick to the bottom of pressure cooker using olive oil spray.

I do not know the answer to that question. I use avocado oil because of the higher heat point that olive oil.
