This is a well rounded and classically flavored falafel mix. Fries up crispy outside and tender and flavorful in the middle. Last a long time for a three person family - three meals spread out over a couple of months. Great size, decent price, and delicious flavor. My favorite falafel mix. Very pleased.

Delicious! Follow the directions and I used a falafel molding tool...better than restaurant food.

This mix is very tasty! But I have had a problem with it. The instructions say "1 cup" mix, "3/4 cup" water. Mix together. An hour later not all the water had been absorbed. I waited another ~15 mins. but not better. It was too loose to make balls so I quickly formed a patty which spread out quite a bit in the pan. I thought about the possible cause: maybe I should pack down the mix a bit so there would be more in the bowl, maybe I mis-measured the water but not likely since I'm a bit compulsive about measurements. So a few days later I made another batch, packing down the mix and taking note of the 3/4 cup of water. But I got the same result. So more pattys and I'm looking forward to making another batch with 1/2 cup of water. In the end, what matters is how it tastes and it's tasty!!

When Trader Joe's stopped selling falafel mix, I did the research to find out that an identical product was produced by Tarazi. Although it costs triple the Trader Joe's price, it is such an excellent falafel mix that I've been willing to pay the high price they charge. But I have been very disappointed by the fact that they ship the box in a paper sack that has resulted in the box being crushed and opened on my last 3 orders, with the inner cellophane package of falafel mix floating free in the sack. Fortunately, those inner packages have so far not burst while in transit but could easily do so. It seems that for the price charged, the product could be shipped in a more secure packaging.

Loved this product! It was delicious and I would absolutely buy again!
