Glow Sticks Military Grade Lightstick - Premium Green 6” SnapLight Emergency Chemical Light Stick with 12 Hour Duration (Bulk Pack of 30 Chem Lights)

As an avid camper, I've always kept a pack of Cyalume Glow Sticks in my gear bag. On a recent camping trip, these Military Grade SnapLights genuinely came to the rescue. The night had set in quicker than anticipated, and our campsite was shrouded in darkness. Popping a few of these out, their bright green glow illuminated the area with a soft and eerie light, allowing us to set up our tents without fumbling. The 12-hour duration claim isn't an exaggeration – one lasted the whole night, serving as a makeshift lantern inside our tent. Having 20 in a pack means I can share them with fellow campers or save them for several trips. They're compact, easy to activate, and incredibly reliable. If you're ever in a pinch or just want some atmospheric lighting, these are a stellar choice!

I have had these CYALUME snaplights in my vehicle since 2018 (6yrs), and they still work. I live in a climate where it's over 100° in the summertime. They are of good quality, easy to use and small enough for a first aid kit, which is where I kept them. I recently bought some of these in red to use instead of flares for my vehicle. They're non-flammable, bright and much easier and safer to use than flares. If you're looking for good snap lights these are the ones to buy.

I bought these back in 2014 for my earthquake emergency kit. We had a power outage yesterday morning around 6am which lasted until 10pm that same night! I was at work and forgot about the power outage (thinking it would be over by the time I got home, hahaha!). I stayed outside as late as I could before going into my hot humid house. My parents live next door and my father is 87 and has dementia. I was worried that two lanterns would not be enough light for him when he had to get up in the middle of the night for the bathroom. That's when I remembered my glow sticks! I used 3 of them to line the hallway for my dad and left 1 in the bathroom as a nightlight. My mom was impressed with how much they illuminated the hallway and bathroom. My stash of glow sticks have an expiration date of 10/2018, so I was happy that they lasted through the night for my dad. That being said, I think because they were getting closer to their expiration date, they did not last 12 hours as advertised. They lasted about 9 hours. By 5 a.m., my glow stick in my bathroom was barely glowing. I have 7 left and will be ordering more for my parents and myself!

My brothers and I like to hit golf balls off the hill behind my house. However, in the winter it is dark when we get off work so we decided to start making our golf balls glow in the dark. We tried kids party favor glow sticks at first. It was fun but we burned through a lot of glow sticks because the party ones don't hold a lot of glow liquid. Also the balls were not very bright. I decided to look on Amazon.com for some man-strength glow sticks and found these. We are much happier with them. We simply activate the glow stick, then cut the glow stick open and dump the glowing liquid into a small bowl. We then dip the golf ball into the liquid and rub the liquid around on the ball so the entire ball is glowing. Then we launch the golf ball into the night like a shooting star. With these glow sticks the ball is visible for probably 200 yards. They stay visible for an hour or two so after knocking 100 balls we go out with the kids and pick them out of the weeds in the dark. The kids love it, it's like picking glow in the dark Easter eggs. I'm sure the manufacturer probably does not recommend cutting the glow sticks, but the liquid inside is non-toxic. I wear gloves because it will stain your skin. And use extra caution when cutting because there is broken glass inside the glow stick after activation. Overall the price and quality of these glow sticks is exactly what I needed for my unique application.

I bought these for casual use. Camping and grandkids Halloween / playing in the yard. I am not qualified to comment on their "military grade" claims as I never used chem sticks when I was in the military. But I can say these sticks appeared to be brighter / last longer than the ones I've bought at the local dollar store. I am writing this review a few years after purchase but at the time I was satisfied with what I paid for what I received. I would buy again if I needed them but grandkids are now older / live in a different state.

10/6/25: The expiration date on my lightsticks purchased 9/9/2018 is 7/2023. I tested one last night beginning at 6:10PM and now at 8:50AM the next morning, the lightstick is still operating. Of course, it is not very bright and not comparable to when initially activated- but still is putting out ~5%-10% . Excellent product.

Still usable after 16 hours, it has been 17.5 hours, I went into the closet to see how well the illumination is and if it were pitch black outside it could be used as a trail marker. I was able to get enough light from it at 17.5 hrs to read a map. I will buy these always, I am surprised I have never found one that stays illuminated so long.

I was hesitant about these lights due to I have experience with the military grade chem lights. I purchased these to get more bang for my buck, and man did they perform. These are just as good if not better, than the military grade lights. The only real difference is the design of the hook enclosure for attaching to wire or parachute lines. I took the picture during the day, under natural light, 17 hours after it was activated. As you can see, it is still visible. These are now my go to lights for emergencies, camping, and hiking. I don’t t normally do reviews, but this product deserves recognition for its performance and price point. Great Job SnapLight!
