Will never buy another Ott-lite item.
I will never buy another lamp from Ott-lite. Just 2 months after the 2 year warrantee period was up, the lamp went dead. I called and they said it was the bulb. So I ordered a bulb that looked just like it for $3 and it did not work. I had to buy theirs for $20. So I bought it and the lamp still did not work. I called back and the tech woman/person said that it has to be the battery, because I left it plugged in all the time, so that caused the rechargeable battery to not work. She said, "you just have to replace the 6 volt battery". Easier said than done. This battey is not an ordinary battery. Weighs over a pound, about about 4x3x2 inches. Radio Shack doesn't even carry it. I had to buy it on line, $20 for the battery plus postage, and I saw it as high as $60. So, it doesn't work with the new battery either. So I call again, and the guy says that it must be the ballast. Can't be fixed. They'll give me a big discount on another one because my two year warrantee is expired. It goes in the gabage. In fact, I'll send it back to them along with a copy of this review. By the way, it's bulky and too heavy to be comfortably used as a portable item. This is also not the first Ott-lite item I've owned that failed to work.

Not rechargeable!!
The lamp I received was NOT rechargeable. It was just a regular plug-in Ott-Lite. Maybe this was a mistake by the shipper, and I appreciate Amazon giving me a refund. But I would proceed with caution.

Short battery
Works great when it is on. However, the battery runs out after about 1hour. That is a bit of a drag. But otherwise love it.

Works Great!
I needed a battery operated lamp for a desk that is in the middle of the room with no easy access to electrical outlets. Impossible to find one that is attractive enough to place in the study without making it look like a camper. This lamp looks great and works great too, Highly recommended!

stopped working
this product was ordered used and stopped working after a couple of hours. i should have payed attention to the return policy giving only 7 days to return the product from the seller. generally this is a great product itself because i have one that plugs in.

Pice of junk
This light is a piece of junk. It never charged and the light stayed on for one minute after 6 DAYS OF CHARGING. DO NOT BUY THIS
