I originally purchased this back in January after having some moderate success with neosporins daily hydration therapy, which I first tried back in November. My problem was more that I didn't like the application method a lot, (way to used to regular chapstick) and I always left it at home so I would frequently forget to make use of it when I really needed it. I decided to try this stuff after reading all the reviews here, and figured it was worth a shot. And I only need to put it on at night before I go to sleep? Sold! Well sure enough, after a several day period, I saw significant improvement in my lip health. Chapping was almost non-existent, and my lips were much softer (my girlfriend agrees!). I've been using it on and off every night since then, mostly just as needed and my lips have continued to be in excellent shape for the first time I can recall in quite a while. Well, just pretty recently I got to thinking a bit. If it worked such wonders on my lips, why would it not work somewhere else on my body? Why not on say, my constantly dried out, and peeling nose? It's been a life long issue for me, and it just seems like my nose is never able to fully heal after a cold or an allergy bout. I've tried various products, from lotions, to ointments and salves at one time or another. It would sometimes get better for a little while, but invariably something would happen and it just proved to be in-effective long term. So just a couple weeks ago, I decided to also apply some to my nose for a few nights at see what would happen. I did my best to not blow my nose and pick at dry skin (I've always been a little self-conscious of it), and to my surprise, I didn't even have to worry about that. Right from the first day, my skin was already well on its way to healing up. Even with having to blow my nose, my skin just felt healed and moisturized after 2 nights of it. I was pretty amazed to say the least. Even after coming down with a bit of a cold last week (which thankfully never really made it past my nose), in which my nose got really beat up from several days of constant blowing and dripping, I sit here on sunday with my nose feeling totally fine not even days after my nose was so dried out and raw it hurt just to touch it! I still don't know how effective it will be long term for this, but I've been so impressed by the immediate results that I felt I had to finally post my review for a product here on amazon. I love this stuff, and will definitely keep using it for a while. I will update my review once I've used it for this purpose for a longer time frame. So far, so good though!

Petroleum jelly, e.g. Vaseline (100% PURE petroleum), helps AVOID dry lips by locking in the lips' own moisture, preventing dryness from environmental conditions (cold air, dry heat, etc.) or minor dehydration. And if dried out, actively re-applying petroleum jelly will allow the lips to eventually restore themselves. To HEAL lips from OTHER ISSUES, dryness or not, more ingredients are needed. Neosporin Lip Health is 77.4% WHITE petroleum and 22.6% other ingredients, including lanolin, coco butter, corn oil, mineral oil and vitamins A, D3 (cholecalciferol) and E. Classification of "active" and "inactive" ingredients are for compliance with federal packaging regulations and not necessarily indicative of indicative of specific ingredients' efficacy. This is a wonderful product, a blend of age-old holistic stuff, clinically proven compounds and vitamins essential to skin wellness. It's a step above the original "A & D Ointment," 93.5% white petroleum with mineral oil, corn oil and vitamins A and D which I learned about from a dermatologist. (This is not to be confused with the "Original A & D Ointment" diaper rash formula, though that's pretty good stuff.)

I've been using this product for almost six months, and I could not be happier. Yes, it's a little expensive to buy a tiny pot of this stuff, but it is totally worth it. First of all, this stuff lasts for ages. Each little pot can be used for at least three to four months (you only need a tiny bit each time you use this), which I did not expect when I bought it for the first time. Even more importantly, though, this stuff actually works! I was a little skeptical, but my lips have completely changed since I have started using this (I know that my sound a little ridiculous, but it's true!). My lips not only stay moist all night, but they are noticeably more moist throughout the day. I need to apply lip balm maybe 4-5 times a day, whereas before I felt as if I needed to put it on every half hour or so to keep my lips hydrated. I could probably go a whole day without lip balm without my lips feeling dry and peeling, which was never the case before. I personally think this pairs best with Carmex lip balm during the day, but that's just a personal thing. :) Overall, this product is absolutely amazing! Buy it, because it's totally worth it!

This lip cream works!

Some of the best, greasiest, richest lip cream in existence. I use it every night and often during the day. I suffer from dry skin and ezcema, and I wouldn't say this solves it, but it definitely helps. Just wouldn't use when I'm out in public because it's a little pot you dip your finger in, and, well...not doing that when my hands aren't washed. Wish there was also a squeeze version to apply directly to lips as well
