Surprisingly good quality. Prints are actually very good indeed. Very clear and detailed with excellent colour. Great starter bundle here with extra sheets. Great that you can send images from your smartphone to the printer too. I had thought it might be a bit naff but it's very very useable. The grandkids love it for scrapbooking.

My daughter was desperate for the classic "shake it" instant camera but when I looked into how much they cost, and more importantly, how much the film costs, it was a hard no from me. I did lots of research and finally landed on the Kodak Mini Shot 3 but still felt nervous about parting with my money, though I shouldn't have worried. This camera is AMAZING! I think it's important to remember that your satisfaction with this camera will depend on your expectations. I wasn't expecting to get professional photos from it or battery that lasts for days, I simply wanted to fulfil my daughter's wish of being able to print photos straight from the camera. I was pleasantly surprised at how big the camera is, it feels like you've got a "proper" camera and like you've got your money's worth, but it's not bulky and it's easy to carry with the strap that's included. I love the fact you can preview the picture on screen and decide whether or not to print, so you don't waste film on bad photos. I absolutely love the experience of waiting for the picture to print, it takes a few minutes overall but once it's done, it's ready. It's fun seeing the picture pop in and out as it layers the different colours on. The film cartridges are very easy to remove and insert, and I am so happy with how much cheaper they are compared to the big brand. I bought 60 prints for £15 on Amazon which works out 25p per photo. The pictures come out quite clear and I'm very happy with the colours. Don't get me wrong, they're not good enough that you'd use only this camera for important events like weddings but they're really nice keepsakes and have a classic look. I can't comment on the charge because we've only used the camera in the house so far so there's always a charger around. We are going to take it on holiday but I'll just keep a battery pack handy because I can tell the charge won't last for a whole day of memory making. The only negative from me is that the pictures seem to print out slightly off-centre which is annoying when you tried to align it perfectly. But I've found if you hold the camera vertically instead it seems to eliminate the problem, and makes no difference because the pictures are square anyway. Speaking as someone who was stressed about finding the perfect instant print camera, I would 100% recommend this one to anybody.

As a printer for 2x3" photos from your phone (scrapbooking/reference) it's very good. The refills (ink and paper combo) are readily available and quite not too expensive (about 30p per print or less). I find most prints take about 40 seconds, you can not use any other function while printing. The camera function feels like an after thought. There is no way to store or download images (it's print or delete, thats it). The battery life is very good though.

This item was faulty out of the box. I had only two successful pictures then the cartridge jammed, ruining it. From then on the camera would not print as it turns itself off during the printing process leaving incomplete photos. The camera comes with a one year warranty so Amazon referred me to KODAK support. KODAK'S live chat is pointless as they just contact you over email instead and they are on EST. Their responses are very slow and are clearly scripted, like your talking to a scammer, ignoring what you actually ask. After going through troubleshooting, sending them video proof of the fault and confirming my details more than once, they agree to send me a returns label "as soon as its available". After 6 days with no returns label received I have to chase them up. No reply. Next day I open up a new case with support and miraculously a returns label lands in my inbox. THE RETURN UNDER WARRANTY IS NOT FREE. You have to pay for the return to the Netherlands yourself. When I asked to confirm this they ignored me. I returned the item through Amazon instead. Amazon support was really helpful and it was sorted in 5 mins even though it was way outside my returns window.

Overall? Fantastic. Is the camera on par with camera phones? Heck no. BUT, the printer can print photos taken from your phone, and they print really well, surprisingly well! Honestly, I'm more inclined to snap with my phone and print then and there from the Mini Shot. However, you can't deny the fun of snapping with the camera itself, it may not be anywhere near as sharp but it does have a nice retro feel to the photos. The camera UI is super simple, they have done a great job with it to not cram in features and instead focus on the essentials, border / no border, filters, monochrome etc. I think it is a fantastic product for the price.
