My son was very satisfied with using it to fry eggs, make stir-fried eggs, and stew beans. He had followed the instructions beforehand.

This is a great quality heavy cast iron pan. The omelette was cooked perfectly, non-stick on the pan. Just need to make sure to dry the pan after wash and add a drop of oil to keep it seasoned. Highly recommended.

A bit heavier than other tamogoyaki pans but being an excellent cast iron man I am looking forward to trying when I go camping as well as in the kitchen.

Handle comes separate from pan for you to attach unfortunately handle would not screw into pan, obviously no quality control ? Unusable very disappointing because otherwise seemed very good quality .

Before we go any further, please set aside any reviews that say this little device in non-stick. Of course it isn’t!!! Is a plain steel wok non-stick? Of course it isn’t…..you have to season it, and in so doing, you have a wok that is way better than a non stick one. So it’s exactly the same with this Japanese cast iron omelette pan….you MUST season it properly. Thereafter, it just gets better and better and better. So much so in fact, that after half a dozen uses, the amount of oil you are using is miniscule…..a few drops. It comes complete with a nice silicone brush for spreading the oil, an excellent scraper for rolling the omelette, and a green tray for storing the utensils. With a bit of practice, you will be turning out superb Japanese rolled omelettes. My tip is to add a little dashi to your beaten eggs….it gives that superb Japanese flavour. It’s a doddle to use once you get used to it (which doesn’t take long). My second tip is to NEVER wash it with any abrasive or detergent. That will simply strip off the seasoning, and put you back to square one. If you must wash it, then a non abrasive sponge or dish cloth, and some warm water…..never use detergent.

This is a really nice high quality Japanese iron frying pan made in Japan which comes with a correctly sized spatula and other bit and pieces and with instructions on how to season your frying pan. Go on, get one and impress your friend by making Japanese omelettes😁. Highly recommended.
