Easy to use, Effective & Long Battery Life
Certainly seems to be doing the job I bought two to deter rodents from back of house & I have seen none. It has also had a noticeable effect on the birds when adjusted to their frequency. I spent hours researching similar products & reviews this was by far the most highly rated. I am using one undercover in a lean-to & one outside that's exposed to the elements. I have put them both in plant pots so I can move them around freely (useful for charging them up on sunny days). Neither of them are in a sunny-spot so I bought this item as it will also take standard batteries however after one month I have not had to resort to replacing or recharging the batteries fully. First thing to do when they arrive give them a full charge using the supplied USB cable. This is easily done as there is a flashing LED light that goes solid when they are fully charged. Once they are charged up experiment with the sensitivity & frequency depending on their use & location. It's easy to tell when they are working even for a human as they make an audible 'click' and have an red LED sensor light. I have seen the pigeon come down & investigate it when we had it set to scare rodents & not birds. They also had an effect on the owl that was in our garden he has had to move over the road permanently & hopefully because there no more pests for him to eat!

Does not work with Urban foxes.
Bought 2 of these to help in getting rid of a pair of foxes that visit my garden nightly to dig up the flower beds and foul and mark "their" territory. Set this up and selected the setting for foxes (2). Fully charged them using the USB and them placed them in the garden at the relevant spots. tested that they activated when walked past and could hear the click of the circuit going on, and the PIR light.Night one, both foxes did not seem bothered, but where curious, night 2, they dug the bed right in front of the sensors and fouled in four locations, so definitely I have either deaf foxes or the devices do not bother urban foxes.

This works - I have the videos to prove it :-)
I thought either next doors dog or a rhino was messing in our front garden right by our front door, so I invested in a wireless security camera and caught our own cat dumping there early in the morning. Having identified the culprit I bought two of these based on the reviews and planned to use the other in our back garden where there is also a growing pile of turds. Within a couple of days I had our cat on video sneaking round the front of this device and messing in the same area, but realised that may have been because I had deliberately set the sensitivity very low to try to not trigger is as we come in and out of the house. So I turned up the sensitivity and the very next day had a hilarious video of our rather large cat trotting over to it's usual dumping ground only to trigger this device and have it bolting up the driveway. Wondering if I can use a pair of these devices to bounce the cat like a pinball into next doors garden for it's daily ritual. The only thing to be aware of is that although at 46 I cannot hear this thing when it goes off, my two children, 11 and 15 are a little freaked out by it because they can. You can adjust the frequency of the scare noise it gives off which I did yesterday, turning it up until my daughter couldn't hear it anymore. But then early this morning I was alerted by the security camera to a certain black and white furball sniffing around next our front door with impunity and assuming the squat position whilst I could see this thing going off behind it. Needless to say I've now turned it back to number 3 - so no more number 2 :-)

They work - but one unit failed after just few months.
Update November 2016:Well, these things may work, but only while they last! The second one I bought packed up after just 5 months. It still flashed occasionally, but most of the time it didn't respond at all. I tried charging it via the USB and I put new batteries in it, but al to no avail. I've knocked off a couple of stars for this. The original one (bought just over a year ago) is still working, although the batteries supplied only lasted a few months (and new rechargeables can be expensive (keep an eye out and get them in Aldi/Lidl when they do them). And while I'm at it, a general points from my year+ experience of using these things - keep an eye on them, don't just assume they are working. In shadier areas or when the days get shorter, you'll find that they don't get enough sunlight to keep the batteries charged, so you'll need to bring them in for a USB charge every now and again. And, if they don't recharge properly, or the charge doesn't last long, replace the batteries._________________________________________________________________________________________________________Original review:It works!I honestly didn't think it would, but the patch of earth between two lots of newly concreted path that the local cats and foxes have been using as a latrine for the past few weeks has remained kaka-free since I installed this. And no poo has appeared in any of the flower beds within about 4-5 metres of the device.Unfortunately, we have a long garden (50m+), so I'm still having problems at the other end with the vegetable beds, but, come the spring, when I'll be preparing those beds, I shall be buying another of these to put up that end too.I was dubious about how long it would work during the shorter days, but perhaps, even if it doesn't work all night, the cats/foxes/etc know it's there so steer clear anyway? One point to watch out for though - although an old git like me can't hear anything, both my wife (in her 40s) and the kids (6 and 10) say it makes a very irritating noise. So if you (or the neighbours) have got kids who play near where you're going to put one of these, it might be an idea to turn it off during the day.
