Some years ago my wife and I bought a set of Japanese bowls that we still use as dessert dishes. We’ve lost a few over the years, so when we saw these, we were pleased to have found replacements that were very similar. They are just the same size and very like the old designs; however these bowls have a thin brown edge, where my old dishes had white glaze everywhere. The brown edges appear to be unglazed , and add a homey and rustic touch. Not an exact match to our old set, but they’re so attractive that I don’t mind the differences.

We wanted an authentic Asian smaller sized bowl. Beautifully crafted inside as well as outside. A lovely addition to our kitchen.

Love these little rice bowls. They seem thin and fragile, but so far have proven sturdy for daily use and in the top rack of the dishwasher. Perfect for smaller portions. Would buy again.

They are the size advertised. So check it before you buy these. They are very pretty and go in the dishwasher without a problem.

These are shorter than the advertised 2.6", they are 2.1". But they hold a good portion of rice, any more would probably be too much. I returned the first set because there were glaze pops in two that I was afraid would chip, second set is fine. They are thin but seem to be sturdy. Have handwashed thus far but everyone else seems to put them in the dishwasher without issue. Got the matching shallow plate bowls that are thicker. Now working on getting the large ramen bowls and donburi bowls that match also. So far, Amazon doesn't seem to stock them but it is cost prohibitive to ship from Japan. The rice bowls also make a nice dessert dish.

Love the style of this dishes and these are the real deal (made in Japan). So useful for so many things. Possibly a little overpriced, but they've come a long way....

le ciotole sono deliziose, arrivate puntuali, imballate benissimo a prova di lancio in giardino del corriere... Autentiche giapponesi, lo prova la carta di giornale giapponese in cui erano avvolte.... Bella scatolina rigida, ottima fattura, le consiglio. E ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
