Mannequin complexion is much lighter than what is shown so I'm not sure if I received exactly what I ordered. I double checked my order number with whats on the box and the website and they are all different. However, the hair is soft and does shed a little. It also had a smell to it but after washing it and using a little hair products, it was barely noticeable. The texture is just what I wanted so I can learn to braid my daughters hair. I didn't read reviews before purchasing because someone recommended this particular one and I'm glad I didn't because I probably would have been hesitant to purchase.

The hair is authentic and great for braiding

Hair was brittle but that’s common feeling for hair on dolls. detangles so well it’s crazy, havnt washed or put heat on it so hopefully that goes well. The smell of the hair made me gag. I will be washing right I after I detangle the hair. The smell of the hair will be on your hands for a bit. Put gloves on or use strong lotion.The face is weird but that’s not the point of the doll and if it’s for makeup nobody’s face is perfect. Parting the hair hurts my eyes, so be aware of what shape you want when parting sections. The part that holds the doll on a table or stand is pretty strong. I wouldn’t push to hard on the head or it will just flop in the direction. You have to be light and can’t be too aggressive. Which is hard to be light when trying to grip hair.

I bought this mannequin head to practice braiding and styling, and I’m really happy with it! The hair is soft, full, and doesn't shed easily. It holds styles well and is perfect for beginners and even more advanced learners. The head is stable and fits nicely on a stand. It’s definitely a good investment if you're learning or improving your hairstyling skills.

If you are looking for THICK hair, this is it. It’s actually thicker than I imagined. I’m teaching my 7yo how to braid and whew this was a task. I’ll definitely wash and blow dry to see if that will help. I can braid it just fine, it’s just teaching a child may be too much. I love it though!
