This will be a little emotional but, I Bought this for my Mother for christmas this year. She loved Cardinals. Before I even recieved the package she passed away. When I recieved the package it took me 3 days to open it. This is now sitting on my fireplace mantle along side with her. It is not going anywhere and I will cherish this sentiment piece of art for the rest of my life and it is not going anywhere. Knowing that this was the last Present I ever got her. This is the perfect size, I dont care what other people say. She would have loved it.

I am so disappointed!! I had such high Hope's for this because my mother loved it so much. I am embarrassed to even give it to her. It looks like something you would pick up at the Dollar Tree. It looks nothing like the pic. The images are blurry, the gold trim is smudged, and the legs are fat and uneven, unlike the slender well defined legs in the pic. The pillow on the inside is uneven and the inside of the lid is not gold as pictured, it is just plain white with the writing on it. I have never ordered from the Bradford Exchange before and I never will again. I paid $75.00 for this box with shipping and I have never felt more cheated.

This is a very pretty little music box. The decoration (painting) is very nice, although the gold is a bit sloppy. However, the lid does not really fit the box as well as it should. The music box mechanism is not good quality: it is tinny and VERY soft sounding (too quiet.) It is also a very brief snippet of the tune, one of the shortest I have heard, and I have collected music boxes for 50 years. I can hear it, but it is not as loud as it should be, no matter what surface I put it on. My husband cannot even hear it. I am keeping it, as it was his birthday gift to me, but I would never pay this price had I seen it beforehand.

I purchased this songbird music box as a keepsake for my best friend's one year old daughter. Although the measurements are included in the description, I still found the box to be smaller than anticipated. If you take a 12 inch ruler, the box measures about 4 inches long (to give some additional clarity). The artwork on the music box is lovely! The product is made in China and comes with a certificate of authenticity. My only disappointment in this music box is the design on the inside. The inside is of course porcelain but it is not covered with any material such as felt. Additionally, the part that makes the music is rather large in comparison to the box itself so there is not much room to place items inside the box. It would nicely secure a few rings or a small bracelet. The part that makes the music is covered by a piece of foam-like material, with the wind up key protruding out from the foam. I am pleased with my purchase as it was meant to be a keepsake for a child but would have been more disappointed had I purchased this box to store other precious items.

It was really small, but perfect for my 90 yr old Chinese Mum who has everything! The music is so pretty & the cardinal reminder of son, & loves birds being in big city, don't get to see many! Just perfect!!
