Absolutely beautiful little hatchet. Head has a good fit on handle, razor sharp edge and the quality of both the head and handle is beautiful. Would buy again

Wonderful Size, excellent Axe
What can I say? I'm a fanboy of Swedish Steel, particularly axes. The size and weight of the hatchet is perfect for carrying at all times as I hike for "random acts of trail maitanence". I just hook it inside the left side of my hip belt and I can remove it at ease to chop stray branches or chop steps into treefall for myself and others. And it cuts wood like butter. I bought a Gransfor Bruk Wildlife hatchet and wound up giving it to my son as I was unhappy with the "cheap" leather sheath. The Gransfor itself was fine but the sheath or hood is part of the picture and on the Hults the full grain leather hood is great. The steel is great, came with a good edge and sharpens quickly, do be aware that this is high carbon and will rust quickly, I take a small bottle of oil, a stone and a rag into the field to keep this hatchet in tip top shape. I have three Husquavara axes and hatchets and they are a wonderful value, however, they don't make a "pee wee". Again, excellent axe, most especially for the backcountry and when considering a survival knife or axe.. hey it's axe/hatchet all the way!!! God Bless and be well.

Very satisfied.
Love the look, feel and balance, sharpness, construction, quality. It is nice to get a tool that is actually sharp and I mean real sharp, i can shave hair with it. It’s very comfortable in the hand and it’s exactly the length I wanted, short like 1 foot handle and a sharp balanced head! It is so worth the money that I am looking up their other products.

Perfect little camp hatchet
I have wanted this hand axe for a while and I am very happy with my purchase. It is a perfect little hand-held for camping, and I like the ergonomics of it. A cheaper hatchet will probably do just fine for the average users need, but if you are into the Swedish axes you won't be disappointed adding this to your collection.

Excellent detail carving axe/hatchet
I had my eye on this for some time. I wanted a small carving axe that gave me as much control as possible as an intermediate step between roughing out with a larger hatchet, and knife carving. This for the bill perfectly. The short handle and light head allow significantly more control than just choking up on the handle of a larger hatchet. This hatchet would be frustrating and exhausting to use to rough out spoons and bowls from logs and limbs, but it can’t be beat for refining roughed our blanks prior to knife work. The quality is excellent and the edge came razor sharp and with an excellent bevel for carving.

Wow, this is truly a workhorse of an axe and climbs above the competition in all aspects
This is an amazing axe. I have seriously underestimated the quality of the Hults Bruk Axe line. The head is every bit as good as any Gransfors or whetterlings that I have used and is better balanced with the handle. The axe is very ergonomic, meaning that it does very well for roughing out carving pieces, while not causing fatigue. I used this axe to rough out several spoons over the course of an hour or two without fatigue. The handle selection was right on and everything about this axe says that it is a workhorse and not something you buy for the name. The sheath is much higher quality over the competition. I highly recommend this axe to anyone considering purchasing a Gransfors or Whetterlings in this style.

Fills a much needed nich!
I have had several Gransfors and other axes but never had a Hults.. I debated this Hults Bruk Jonaker Hatchet for a very long time before I puled the pin. I wish I had ordered it sooner. Unlike the Wild Life which I found too light for the length of handle this hatchet is it absolutely perfect for bush craft and fire prep. This is NOT a toy hatchet. Because of the perfect balance between the hickory handle and the forged head it has quickly become one of my favorites. Would I choose it to cut down a large tree? Of course not. Neither would I try to use my Forest ax to prepare kindling. I find it useful for everything from shaving feather sticks to dressing small game rather than a knife. Don't be fooled by by the looks in the picture. It is quite sturdy Do not hesitate to get this one. Semper Fi Mike

Nice but has finishing issues
Out of the box I first noticed the many fine splinters the full length of the handle sticking into my hand no matter where I tried holding it. A bit of sanding took care of that. The blades edge was razor sharp with the exception of the last quarter inch on the bottom which was still flat and the small chip about half an inch from the top. Not deal breakers but for the price you expect higher quality control. I've gotten much cheaper tools that are better finished. Also sheath not the same as pictured the one I got has no stop on the strap to keep it from working loose.

For the price I was expecting it to have similar quality of my Gransfors Bruk but it defiantly does not, there are all kinds of cast marks on it still. The head is painted poorly with drips all over it, thought it was blackened but is not. Was not sharp on arrival and all together looks sub par for the cost, will be returning it and going with a better brand.
