Solid scope mounting system
I purchased two UTG high profile scope mounts for my spring airguns. The nature of the spring-piston airgun is unique in the fact that they give a double recoil. A rearward recoil when the piston is released and a forward recoil when the piston slams into the breech. This double recoil is very hard on scopes and mounts. The UTG one piece mount is far superior to a two piece mounting system because it holds tighter to the dovetail on the rifle and the problem of lining up the two scope rings are nonexistent due to the nature of the design. Misaligned scope rings can be problematic and difficult to correct. Another manufacturer makes a similar mount to the UTG but they use 5 screws to clamp to the dovetail rather than 3 and I would think that would even be better but it costs considerably more than the UTG mount. I have not had a bit of trouble with the UTG mount moving and it has a stop pin that helps too. For rimfire rifles without a hole in the receiver for a stop pin, the pin is easily removed from the UTG mount. The UTG mount is packaged with an extra mounting screw and stop pin so in case you lose one, there is another on hand. I would recommend this mount to those who plan on installing a scope on a spring-piston, or gas-piston, airgun. I think this mount would be an excellent choice for rimfire rifles too. After seeing how well this mounts works, I plan on installing a UTG single piece mount for use on Weaver bases on my 500 S&W single shot rifle that has a tremendous recoil and I have had problems with the scope slipping in the two piece rings I use now. And you can't beat the price here on Amazon, at least I haven't found it yet.

Stumbled through my first mount, but great product (Marlin 795 .22)
If you've ever mounted on a .22 then you can skip my review and know that this is a good mount for the price. This is mainly for those stumbling through their first time like I was. First of all, keep in mind that the locking screw (useful - should your gunrail have a spot for such a screw) was down when I got this. So after several times of trying to slide this on my rail only to have it "pop up" after it was nearly all the way on did I look under the mount itself to find this extended screw. I pulled that back and it slid onto the rail fine. Very sturdy! And secures VERY well. The rings didn't seem to quite have a large enough diameter to fully wrap my UTG 4x32 TS Full Size Mil-dot Scope with Airgun/.22 Rings, Pre-adj @ 35 Yds , but it's very close and I'm probably just anal about it. Make sure you lightly screw in one on each side of the ring and tighten down equally, one at a time so that both sides have equal pressure. I've put about 200 rounds through my Marlin 795 with this scope and the aforementioned scope. Never lost zero, and am able to consistently hit golf balls at 30ish yards, no problem. The only negative is the fact that there are 8 screws to loosen/tighten to mount a scope. It seems like there should be a better design with a hinge on one side or something. A small price to pay for an excellent, cheap solution though. It also utilizes two different sized Allen wrenches (3 if your messing with the top/rail screw). I like to keep wrenches with their scopes in case I need to switch to built in sights for some reason, so one size would be better.. again, probably considered splitting hairs.

Little bit of money - big effect on shot groups
I knew I was encountering an issue with the scope mount for my Gamo Swarm Whisper 10x .177 air rifle. The scope would not hold zero, and my shot groups were more erratic than I could tell the rifle was capable of, so I decided to use this mount in troubleshooting. After 5 minutes of zeroing the scope, I could immediately see my shot groups tightened up both at 11 and 28 yards, from roughly 1” and 3” respectively to pellet on pellet at 11 and 3/4” at 28 yards! If you think you’re having scope issues and are the least bit curious about whether the mount is the culprit, this small dollar amount will produce an immediate result if the mount is the issue :). I can’t speak to longevity, but it feels extremely well made, all the threads were cut accurately and with quality (one earlier review mentioned that, I didn’t see that). I did use blue thread locker and I was careful not to over tighten the screws. Even before the thread locker dried, this mount tightened my groups all around. Highly recommend.

Fits Nice...
I bought myself a nice airgun with a scope (a Walther Falcon Hunter .25 cal) about a year or so ago, but the mounts that came with the gun weren't that great. It would keep getting loose, no matter how many times I tightened it. Also, since there were two separate mounts for each ring, instead of an integral 1-piece like this one, it didn't hold as well. After I installed this mount, it feels a lot more stable, and the scope doesn't slide around after getting loose, like it did with the original mount. I also like how there's 3 screws on the bottom instead of two, so it holds tighter. The package also came with extra screws in case you lose them, which is nice... I guess. I shopped around and noticed that there were a lot of mounts that were a lot more expensive, so I'm overall satisfied with the price, look, and performance of this one. Just another note... this mount is for the dovetail dimensions, so it won't fit the guns with the wider rails. I mistakenly bought a different mount that was for the wider rails before I bought this one, and so ended up wasting some money there. Always best to check what size you need first...
