Very useful kitchen gadget
I have had mixed results with Kitchenaid products lately but this chopper has been working great. I'm not much for specialized appliances - I usually just chop by hand. I got it to mince asparagus for my cat (he now lacks teeth) and I got tired of doing it manually, but I wound up using it so much that my cutting board gets much less use now. It's great for pizza toppings, soup, etc. If you precut veggies into 1-2 inch pieces and use short bursts, you can get just about any size pieces you like, down to a fine mince. If you want large pieces you just have to be quick, because it's very fast. It can also make GREAT hash browns, with potatoes, red or green peppers, onions, etc. So flavorful due to the fine chop. I just put it in a convection toaster oven at 400 with a little olive oil and bake it, stirring a few times, very easy. Disassembly/reassembly is very easy and usually I just run the parts under water to clean, giving it a soapy wash every week or two. I haven't had any issues with the gasket coming off (as another reviewer said). Also makes great salsa and guacamole. I've used this at least once a day for 8 months, for things as hard as carrots and broccoli stems, and as soft as mushrooms and tomatoes. I use short bursts, and the motor seems ample. Nice size, but I'm not sure how it would handle heavy liquids, which may be a bit much for the motor - I wouldn't treat this as a food processor. It's a chopper.

A great, sturdy little chopper!
This was exactly what I was looking for and needed! Small enough to make pestos and my favorite salsa. Fairly easy to clean up; I usually rinse it under hot water and set it out to dry, depending on what I've chopped in it. The motor sounds strong and operates well. The safety mechanisms that prevent accidental usage work great. It's compact, but has a fairly short cord. Here's my favorite and easy salsa recipe, just because you asked nicely: 1 can of fire-roasted tomatoes 1 jalapeno or Serrano pepper, more or less to taste 1/4 or less onion (too much and it'll taste too oniony) 1 clove of garlic Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste Pulse on the chop setting until fairly chopped then add: Cilantro to taste (I like a lot) Tops of scallions, if using (the white bottoms can be used in place of onion in step 1) Pulse on chop setting several seconds, until cilantro is roughly chopped. Enjoy!

A Great Little Food Processor
My daughter picked out the aqua blue color, because she liked it. This is my first food processor and I didn't think I needed a large one. Our plan was to use it to make home made granola bars first, and then see what else we use it for. The item came quickly, and is very easy to put together and take apart. Washing is not difficult either. I usually hand wash it, but it looks dishwasher safe to me. It works great and is easy to use. It chopped up nuts and dried fruit for us with no problems. I am please with the unit.

great little unit
I've gone through so many of the smaller food choppers, not really wanting to spend money on something I should just be able to do for free with knives I already own. BUT, I finally laid out a little more, not much, for this KitchenAid chopper and am really happy with it! The first thing I did was toss an onion in, to dice it for some sauce I was making. I worried the onion might become too liquid or the pieces too small, but in fact it was perfectly diced for my needs (see photo). I've also put this to use making salsa and it does a great job with that, perfectly chopping the onion, tomato, cilantro, garlic, and jalapeno, retaining the chunkiness while still blending the flavors. I like the size of the bowl, too - just big enough to toss in a can or two of tomatoes to make salsa! It does take a little getting used to, not having a handle to hold onto when tightening down or taking off the bowl. I think it's actually a benefit to not have the handle, though- makes storage of the processor much easier as it is more streamlined.

Skip full sized processors
Perfect in every way, simple to clean, performs every task you need a food processor for. Oh did you need to grate two pounds of cheese with a grater attachment? This doesn't do that. So why do people spend three times as much for a bulky food processor with all kinds of parts to clean every time you use it, and you know you never use it to full capacity. Almost any big project like blending a soup can be done with an immersion blender, I think this processor is perfectly sized. If you need a machine to grate a pound of cheese for you, you probably need the exercise in any case.

Small but powerful
Might and powerful! This great little machine, has a small footprint, so you don't have to find a lot of room to store him away. But, he is so cute you might just want to leave him out on your counter. Besides that, you will be using him so much, it will just be handier to have him at arms reach. I like to use it for chopping vegetables for soups, or pureeing. Easy to assemble and take apart to clean. Easy to operate. Great price.

Doesn't live up to the Kitchenaide name
I was very excited to get this as I have a kitchen aid mixer I love, wish it came in the cinnamon color to match my mixer. I have been disappointed with this product though. I have an old sunbeam mini processor I bought from a garage sale more than 10 years ago that works circles around this one. I use them mainly for cheese and chopping things like peppers and onions. This does fair with those vegetables but it does not like cheese or anything harder. I can get it to work with cheddar cheese but if the cheese is even a little hard like swiss forget it. I tried it just last night on some swiss cheese, even cut the cheese up into 2 oz pieces and no go. It would spin the motor but didn't have enough power to push the blade through the cheese. I ended up taking the cheese out and chopping it up with a knife, should have just used the grater but I needed quite a bit so thought this would be faster. I'm not even going to attempt apples or potatoes, just going back to the old sunbeam.

It is just the right size for chopping up enough stuff for cooking a small meal and does not take a lot of counter or cupboard space. The bowl easily rinses out. The controls are simple, just high speed or low speed, press one or the other. I was impressed at how quickly it shredded and blended. These went on sale this week locally and this one I purchased from here was still less money than the ones on sale in our local store.

Looks stylish. The quality of the plastic could have been better keeping in mind the brand's stellar reputation. No issues so far with usage, works like a charm.

We bought this food chopper to replace our Magic Bullet that was struggling to puree foods smoothly. This chopper made making baby food so easy and is the perfect size for preparing small batches of different foods so you have a large assortment. Now that our son has outgrown pureed food, my wife uses this to make just about anything from home made hummus, guacamole, fresh salsa, pesto sauce, bread crumbs, choping nuts for baking and fresh parmesan cheese. There is a "wet-ingredient" hole on the top to add liquids without having to remove the lid. It works well with water but if you are making a pesto and need to add a thick liquid like oil, it seems to pool on the top and you'll spend more time waiting for the oil to drip through. Cream also seems to flow very slowly and its much faster to just remove the lid and pour in directly. Dissassembly and cleanup is very easy. As a word of caution, the blades are extremely sharp, don't let them soak in a sink full of soap so you don't know its there. Finally, the Cord. Its a bit short for my liking. Its approximately 2 feet long which is barely enough distance to plug it in and have it clear your upper cabinets. If your outlet is in a corner, you'll probably have an akward time trying to use this. I guess keeping it short is how the got it to wrap neatly underneath for storage. Pros: - Comes in just about every colour to match your other applicances - Excellent value for money - Purees very well - It's quite tiny and takes up little space and light weight Cons: - Power cord could be longer
