I like Halva, and for an indiv wrapped product, I like them well enough. Price, quantity & quality. Everyone would prob like "just 1 more bite" of any treat, but I think these are quite perfectly sized... that said, its probably a very large portion if normally consumed in just 2-3 bites in polite society. I got Marbled (red pkg). If you've never had this before, dont be fooled by a "chocolate" description... they are very faintly flavored. ****If you have had halva before, then they are exactly what you'd expect, and not too sweet. Several commented on them being greasy. So, the oil helps the treat not stick to the inside of the wrapper. But, yeah, they're not each sealed super great either... so the outside of the wrapper or even the box can be a little greasy. The treats themselves are a little messy on thier surface, but I did not think it was slimy or weird when actually eating them... the oil orobably helped since halva could be a little dry, but they are the traditional texture. I told my officemates that halva is a bit like biting into a freeze dried marshmallow, moreso than (as halva is always decribed) like a "fudge" ... fudge sounds far too soft or creamy or pliable compared to halva. I'm curious about the pistachio variety, but dont want a box full. Wish there was a variety pack. GF, dairy free, processed in a plant w nuts. Caution: egg allergy. Research shows its a New York Company. Will probably shop them again, and explore all thier options.

We used to get these as treats back when I was a kid back east, ...back when they were crescent moon shaped... and bigger!! I would find a batch locally every once in a while, and be in a "nostalgic flashback heaven" of my childhood days with these treats! Somehow, the product has changed over the years, but this batch was very dissapointing.... The chocolate coating did not survive the cross country trip from Florida to California in the middle of summer. (I should have thought about that before ordering!) Not only was it melted and coated the inside of the wrapper, the chocolate lost it's temper and never became solid again- even with refrigeration! It was like it was coated wth chocolate fudge syrup- gooey, sticky and smeared everywhere. The halva itself was either pretty old-or also reacted to the heat during transportation. The consitancy was like a more solid, sweet lumpy oatmel and it crumbled easily and didnt cut smoothly with a sharp knife. The corners and ends were hard/chewy and sticky (kinda like a "bad" malted milk ball that gets soft and chewey rather than staying airy and crispy) and it was not the usual halva inside- which is normally a smooth yet granular, crinkly consistancy. This stuff wasnt. There was no expiration date on the packages, so couldnt tell if it was fresh or expired merchandise. Would I buy it again? yes-probably would try buying it again- in the cooler weather- or buy more locally (cant seem to run into it locally, but I havent really tried too hard!) Will contact seller to discuss disappointing condition and revisit this review later... ************ FOLLOW UP ************* Was contacted by the seller and was given a 100% refund and an apology. It was very much appreciated. Even tho this purchase was a 1-star bust and a major disappointment, I would give the seller a 5-star rating for customer service and great business ethics. Thank you... I love these to death, so does my hubby and am thrilled that Amazon carries them.
